I... I just want Castiel to be happy.
I honestly don’t understand the kerfuffle about human!Cas fundamentally changing his nature... we all know and understand that under his own volition and in peaceful times his wardrobe would be exactly the same except he’d have 3 white button ups and a week’s worth of underwear.
For some reason*, losing his grace caused Castiel to lose his wings.
Lucifer’s grace being mostly sucked away by AU Michael left him mostly human and unable to get around, but his wings were still functional.
Jack has now lost his grace, or a large portion of it. He’s more powerful than Lucifer, but he’s half human.
Discuss the impact on Jack’s wings
A Destiel fanart before bed. I had fun drawing this (Also I'm tired, it's nearly 11 at night at the time I'm posting this, and I'm not a night owl at all) I hope you all like it!!!

“It’s him, it’s Dr Sexy”
I'm rewatching 13x06 to make some screenshots and I love how Cas goes "I annoyed a cosmic entity into bringing me back to life" and doesn't explain further what happened but Dean and Sam just accept it, like, yes, of course Cas can be THAT annoying and bitchy, no biggie
It really was his undisputed new superpower last season :D
Sam and Dean, however, understand that he has merely been unleashed. They remember him from the early days :’)
In 12x10 when Cas is explaining Benjamin... that took place like a century before meeting Sam and Dean. S4!Cas had pretty much no concept of close friendship or romantic love, which means he must have gone back mentally and realized "oh, Benjamin and his vessel were in love/close friends" and that tells me that Cas has spent a lot of time thinking about heaven and his old friends and comrades. That makes me very sad :( Ugh Cas vs heaven feelings...
Ow yeah :( Also, Cas getting that perspective and understanding them better speaks to his own experience…
(Or Cas and Benjamin were former lovers, take your pick :P)
But yeah for all Cas had good times and angels that he cared about back then, Ishim is in the episode to remind us that Heaven is institutionally corrupt and malicious and these were the power structures, and especially coming as a revelation to Cas in the present, before going on to discover Naomi alive and well as the new/old face of Heaven… it’s not a call for Cas to rekindle with Heaven, especially as all the best angels quickly end up dead :( The concept of a reformed Gabriel giving it a shot as ruler was dangled and then yanked away as possibly the best remaining ending for Heaven for a brief moment.
I just feel wary about being sad with nostalgia, which is perfectly valid, isn’t enough of a reason for Cas to want anything lasting to do with Heaven, no matter how much it’s like, an “ow the feels” moment :P
