Ā For ten years, Charlesās servants had borne the brunt of his anger, his frustrationāhis selfishness, really. The curse had been the direct result of his carelessness, and his entire household had paid the price for his cruelty. He had damned them to a fate that none of them had deserved. Even after the enchantress had turned him into that miserable creature, he had continued to mistreat his servants, who were frankly the only family he had, after his parents had passed. They had raised him, and whatever spark of kindness he had had left that had allowed him to be at least open to the possibility of changing his ways had been on their account, with Belleās intervention, of course.
At any rate, he wanted to at least try to atone for his sins as best he could. He had summoned Lumiere for that very reason, and found himself pacing the length of his room as he waited. He had spoken with him briefly after they had all changed back, but since then, he found himself occupied by the business of settling into his old life after a decade-long absence. He had contacted his cousin in Paris, who had been thrilled to learn that he was still alive, and had invited him to his impending wedding. Even now the castle was being prepared for a ball celebrating his returnāthey were working tirelessly for his benefit, and it only made him feel worse about how he had denigrated them all in the past. Charles finally stopped his pacing when one of his footmen announced the former candelabraās presence, and straightened his gait, smiling warmly as he strolled over to greet him. āBonjour, Lumiere.ā

Anxiety
Send me an emotion and Iāll describe how my Muse expresses it non-verbally.
Belle tends to manifest anxiety in the forms of lip chewing and fidgeting with her hands, though not often with other objects though if sheās holding a book she might be worrying a page between her fingers. She might also try to hide it behind a smile though itās usually pretty obvious that itās not genuine. Another giveaway is if she brushes her distinctive stray lock of hair back more than a few times in the span of five minutes.
"Bon anniversaire, ma chere mademoiselle!"
āMerci beaucoup! I have a feeling my birthday will be much more interesting than usual this year...ā
"Are you hurt?"
āUh... Oops, sorry,ā Chip smiled abashedly, looking up at Lumiere. The boy had run straight into Lumiere while running down the hall, then fell backwards and hit his head on a table. Chip was quite the clumsy little fellow when he was running about.Ā āIām fine. My head kinda hurts, but itāll be ok. Sorry for running into you, Lumiere.ā
A light in the dark
(Closed RP starter for @caandelabra)
Arina looked around herself once the bright portal vanished behind her. It was dark, the trees were bare and the wind wasnāt the only thing that was howling at the moment. She looked up at the night sky. Though she could barely see any stars through the curtains of clouds that passed by overhead. The moon managed to peak through a break in the moving wisps in the sky. This only added to the eerie nature of her surroundings.
She looked around again. The appearance of the thick woods made a shiver run right up her spine. āThis place is creepier than Halloween Town...ā She spoke only to herself as she began to walk forward.
It actually didnāt take her long to come up to a grand castle. Just as eerie as the woods sheād just exited, but it was a building she could hide in from the impending storm that was brewing above. She saw a few lights on inside. Obviously someone was home.
Heading past the front gate and up to the entrance, the small, child looking woman knocked upon the door. She watched as it slowly opened on its own. āCuriouser and curiouser.ā She muttered to herself once again as she peaked inside. āHello?ā She called out into what sounded like and empty hallway. āAnyone home? I saw light from the windows. I was hoping I could request to wait out the rain in here?ā She stepped just inside the doors and out of the cold wind. Though she dared not to intrude any further until she received and answer.
