Saying it now but i think waterboy being kind of awkward and gross is infinitely more appealing than any supermodel prettyboy version of him that gets put in fanart. I don't think I'd even be half as violently charmed if he was normal.
Yes hello may we pleeeease hear your t4t mechablazer / transfem Robert thoughts... I love your mind
YES HI HELLO THIS WILL BE VERY LONG !!!!
a little doodle as a precursor to the rest of this post :-) i apologise for any typoes...
Honestly Mandy to me reads more as a Cis woman lite in that BB is who she is when she's performing feminity- it's not an inherently bad experience for her, and she relishes in being BB, but becoming idolised and forced to perform under the pressure of societal expectation is moreso what scares her. Yes, Blazer is empowering for Mandy but it doesnt define her, and she enjoys taking the time to just be Mandy and be gender nonconforming in a way that gives her agency over her own identity when the persona of "Blonde Blazer" is so dedicated to The Public
I think BB can be trans i think the amulet HRT is doing that to her SLASH JOKE i actually think that Mandy works rlly well as a transfem woman who is very much GNC and while she loves being girly and feminine, doesn't like it when that becomes the defining factor for how Woman she is (synonymous with how BB is a public figure and therefore must always do heroic public services)
Both robert and blazer in that sense use Instruments to define themselves as their hero versions and I really love the idea of the mecha suit going from a husk of Roberts father -> To an actual piece of himself that is entirely his own
To me, Roberta is the byproduct of Robert bodily tearing himself out of this legacy of Mecha Man, in that so much of his life has been constructed around this concept of "Being Mecha Man Is All You Have" and it basically is, it's all he has of his father, of his grandfather, but now that he has a support system and something to live for outside of his persona (that isn't loadbearing on literally 1 dog) he can craft an identity that isn't tied to trauma that stems from masculinity, or rather the very very warped version of it he had seen come from his father.
Because that's what it really is. the idea that he needs to Get Up and follow in the footsteps of the men before him or he's nothing. That's basically what his life was at before SDN and the z team--- By literally being placed in a scenario where she's forced to reckon with the vulnerability that comes from being out of the shadow of her father, can she really form an identity for herself, and let herself fall back on a support system that love her despite who she might have been before
Therefore, she deserves to be a woman. I think she'd find it extremely liberating to really feel out the parts of herself that she could never experience when she was trying to mold herself into the person her grandfather and her father used to be. To shed the scar tissue that the legacy left behind, to put it in simply.
As for Headcanons....
BB had a habit of brushing Roberta's hair before and it's an even more treasured pasttime now that Roberta is growing out her hair
Roberta doesn't plan on voicetraining or undergoing HRT any time soon but she's added a little "A" to the end of her name on her lanyard.
Blazer is sooo so excited to lend Roberta ANY of her clothes but they're always too big for her which is endearing at first but very difficult when the cups of the bra need to be stuffed with socks
They do eachothers nails and makeup which sometimes culminates in Roberta having to dissociate and hug mandy for a really long time because it's the first time she's really experienced such tenderness through the learning process of something. Whether it be how to do her mascara or how to hold the eyeliner or how to detangle her hair
Courtney voice: I got TWO girlfriends?!?!?!?!?!
And that's all for the moment !!! feel free to ask questions and such :-))) Hoping to hear from more likeminded people....
Due to circumstances (bad ones) i (the one at fault) (clumsy) will not be able (for a while) (maybe) (unsure about this) to make art (draw) (mess with my ocs) (play touys or play games) for a while, (maybe longer) because I've spilled soup (instant noodles) (really tasty and smelled good) (phone vibrated and scared me) (soup everywhere) (my desk smells like soup) (my laptop smells like soup) (my hands smell like soup) all over my laptop :-( (sad) (unfortunate)
The idea of Robert having a kid is so funny. yes we'll break the cycle of generational trauma and they don't have to be subjected to the pressure of following this legacy any more but they're STILL stuck with the name robert robertson the fourth.
I feel like people don't utilise the environmental gags of dispatch enough. I want keyholders made with knives lodged into the wall. I want more ridiculous alien encounters. I want there to be Kaiju Crossing signs on beaches and characters going "awww the bank froze. Literally"
There is so much absurdity packed into the dispatch world thst can only really be accessed through examining the calls themselves because the linear storyline leaves, like, SO little for filler gags about basic torrence life. Its a comedy goldmine
I thought that waterboy's grandma had bubbles for hair???? But people seem to think otherwise???
You think invisigal is aware of the lone wolf thing and actively reinforces it as part of her fursona or does she not know the narrative has just assigned her "emo furry"
