Howdy!

I’m Nuke, the mod of both @ask-the-prototypes and @caballo-bay-missives!

I’ve been actually making art again and I figured it was about time I made myself a little area for art that doesn’t quite fit these other places. Here’s hoping starting this up and getting sketches posted will move me to start answering asks for The Prototypes! (finally. again.)

I’m also working on a few written things, a Destiny 2 crossover fic, “Walls Don’t Usually Move”, and a collection of short stories based around the Caballo Bay group of OCs. I’ll try and remember to update this lil info page once I have links for them!

Apple Pop is a distant member of the renowned Apple Family. A shrewd and smug businesspony, he made his fortune making and selling apple soda, which became immensely popular in the western regions of Equestria. Being so far west allowed his company to grow without competing with Sweet Apple Acres’ own cider business, and it now has to outsource some of the fruit from local orchards, such as those in Caballo Bay. He deals closely with local shops and farmers, though doesn’t live in CaBay proper.

Fun fact, all of Apple Pop‘s colors (minus the blue of his collar) have been color-picked straight from images of real apple sodas!

Day 16!

Coastal’s boisterous personality and penchant for fashion trends helps bring a special flair to the Cliffside District. She can almost always be found at her shop, where she tailors and manufactures any number of garments. She occassionally catches the attention of local nobility, which allows her to afford the high quality fabrics and machinery she uses.

Kickflip is a rambunctious, thrill-chasing pegasus. She can typically be found skating down CaBay’s steepest hills or flying dangerously close to heavy storms. Too young to properly join the weather team, she does delivery work on the side.

Only ever introducing herself as Shusho, she is the captain of the ship The Daiyamondo, and in turn, captain of a large portion of Caballo Bay’s sailors. An old seadog with a storied past, Shusho has been sailing longer than many of her crew has been walking. Though she wears a stern and unimpressed expression, she would fight tooth and nail for The Daiyamondo and its crew, and when off the clock treats them like family - as they are the only family she has left. Nopony in CaBay knows, but her true name is Sakura Shores.

A hardy mare of large stature, Hardtack is the Daiyamondo’s cook. Mane always netted, apron always on, and a toothpick that never leaves her jaw, she does a great deal of work keeping the crew well-fed and with enough energy for the voyage. She works closely with Banded Barrel, keeping track of remaining food stocks. Hardtack is very fond of cast-iron cookware, and if she is not very fond of you, will hit you with said cast-iron cookware.

Double Convex has the niche responsibility of crafting lenses for the town and its residents. From reading glasses to signal panes, Convex’s shop is the place to go. He is father to Traffic Jam.
