Oh yeah, I’m not really surprised. But then, we fell for Evo’s lies too, at the start. It took many of us two to three terms for us to realize who he really was. I figure I’ll just be patient, and possibly have to arm myself with receipts of Evo betraying the ideals of the left.

White Miami Cubans ain’t shit and have always been that awful, especially to afrocubans/cubiches that came after the 80’s. They crave too much nostalgia and power for something that doesn’t exist anymore and they make the worst politicians. I get super annoyed by other US Latines who say that we should be happy that we don’t have to deal with anglogringos but it’s like....we literally have to deal with racist white Latines all the time, it’s the same thing.

We’re talking about specifics here but lets be real they are just reproducing what always happens in latine spaces.We can fight agaisnt US and talk shit but if you dont recognize the issues in our own community and how racism and colorism work and shifts our structures then what the hell are you doing. People are ok with this until it implies analyzing something that maks them uncomfortable. This is why a lot of the myths of latinidad are so hurtful. Latines need to do better.
