Week 2: Assembly line
Ideas being shared within the group about our aims for The Youth Collective, and experimenting with the process mono printing and lino printing.
In June, we welcomed year 3 pupils from Edith Neville and Rhyl Primary Schools for their final workshop of the year. They presented a pop-up Laboratory of Works to share their experimental and imaginative creations.
Ideas for Experiments is a cross-curricular arts project led in partnership with local primary schools based in the Camden borough and Camden Arts Centre. Read more > www.camdenartscentre.org/archive/d/ife16
Join us next week for the Get the Message Exhibition! > www.camdenartscentre.org/whats-on/view/gtm16
Artists Judith Brocklehurst and Rachael Champion demonstrate how to make inflatable sculptures during our Ideas for Experiments project. There’s always a little bit of theatre and surprise with them! The sculptures were then covered in words and linked together to make one big collaborative inflatable artwork!
What a wonderful day we’ve had with Year 3 pupils from Edith Neville School here at CAC. Always a joy! We’ve been choosing words from the exhibitions for our arts works and performing them around the galleries and garden!

Central Saint Martins Project: Walking Backwards in the Artists’ Studio, 2016 Students from CSM presented an evening of live responses to ideas explored in Camden Arts Centre’s Themerson and Karl Holmqvist exhibitions.
Images from top to bottom: Installation views Elliott Hewgill, GENREation Tuli Litvak, Act_Balance & Club Tower - this work represents the social anxiety reflected in objects: performance with golf club light table, homage to the Themersons life. Mehdi Besnainou, Performance Nisha Desai, Will You Eat a Banana in Public? Kate Miller, Middle of the Road - this work has been inspired by the Themersons use of concrete poetry. In the video there were images of roads and then also songs about roads and traffic, and a girl performing in the middle of a road playing the violin. Agata Łakińska, Untitled & 8th October 2015_
