People-watching

On solitary days, I notice the world I am living in; I notice the different forms of human and human connections.

Today, sitting by the slightly foggy glass window with my eyes sharp and thoughts ringing resonant and piercing; I see it all.  Look three o'clock: an enfeebled lady in her late sixties dressed in oddments of clothing, eyes bleak and lips quivering; aimless and brimming with solitude. She sucked in a shaky breath, hands clenching and unclenching, eyes wandering and astray; she yearns to be in the scene of open palms and warm rain.  Look six o'clock: Seventeen years old; fresh-faced, eager-eyed and pure-minded. She is face of light, heart of gold and the epitome of adolescence and youth. Smoothing over the vanilla-scented pages stained with tawny colored blemishes; as she hid herself within the four corners of the novel. The corners of her mouth lift, eyes glazed over as she silently read the words of solace; often more patient than people in the harsh, frightening world. This is her safe haven; her quiet escape from the hustle and bustle, she is sheltered in her own delicate world. Look eight o'clock: His palms face down on her thighs, forehead on hers, eyes silver with love, fingers dabbing away her cobwebs; he brings light to her shadows.  All her joy is to feel life spring from flower-fountains that hers keeps to fill all the valleys of her nerves which are his.  Lips burning with love and eyes shining with passion, their hands interlocked as they put couples who seal their fate on high fences with locks and discarded keys, to shame.  Look ten o'clock: Narrowed eyes full of storm, large hands of authority, lips forming a grim line; he is blaring danger and uncertainty. Crumpled and withered from the inside out, eyes beckoning and voice trembling; she wants an out. Peril looms ahead and spreads outwards like a dark and pestilential cloud; invading her blood, robbing her of her senses, blurring her vision. Yet, every slap, every punch, every yank, every push, every tear, every strangled sob, every scab, every scar, every bruise flashes before her; she remember, she remembers. His triumphant stance over her, his hands grasping a dagger smeared with filthy, black ink; the sudden discharge of a stench into the air of scornful, pale flowers. She is the continuing supply of fuel for his angry furnace; surviving on the sips of air from his smothering love.  The world is intriguing in my eyes, a mystery no one can solve; a child that knows its poems by heart.  My footsteps heavy, my body slumping from the discovery of hidden truths; this is the beauty of people-watching.

Winter/late autumn

Hey babes! @freshlypickked here from Instagram. Today I am styling a winter or late autu mn outfit. This is a comfy/casual outfit suited for everyday wear. I have navy b lues and greys and cargo and then a pop of colour. In winter we tend to forget about colour, so I love to add a bit of brightness to the outfit. It doesn't even have to be in clothing- it could be a hat, bag, necklace, shoes? Anything! Also I think a key piece to my winter wardrobe is cargo jeans. They match just abou t every colour and looks great for a casual outfit or you can snazz them up for night out!  I am wearing: Scarf / / Ella Sanders Tee / / Gap Jeans / / Just Jeans Shoes / / Converse Don't forget to check my Instagram out! Cactus Interview: Zara

-Tell us about you

my name is Zara and I am 14, almost 15. I'm from New Zealand and have lived there my whole life but i love traveling out of New Zealand! My main hobbie is photography and Instagram which is what I do a lot of. I don't do a lot of sport but the sports I play are tennis, squash and dancing, I guess that's a sport! I do yoga in my spare time and I really enjoy that! My dream in the future is to be a photographer or even a model would be cool! But I just want to be known by many :)

-What is your favorite album?

I don't really listen to any specific albums but I love all of lorde's songs so her Pure Heroine album!

-How did you start to get interested in photography?

What happened with me is when I was young, my parents brought me a camera so it basically when from there, then I got a better camera and that helped a lot with my improvement

-Fashion icon/inspiration?

I love Karen walker, her style of fashion design is pretty out there and I love her sunglasses but her stuff doesn't suit me so I choose just to admire it!

-Favourite camera?

Canon, nothing better.

-Favourite food?

Macaroni cheese!

-Cats or dogs?

Dogs, you can do more out and about with dogs! 

-Item that you can't live without?

My iPhone and Camera oh and wifi 

-What are you listening and wearing right now?

Well I'm in bed so pyjamas! I'm listening to animals by baths 

-How do you see yourself in the future?

I would like to be a well known photographer

Cactus Interview: Bethany

-Tell us about you

I'm in high school in the UK, I've just finished some of my exams but have more next summer!D: I want to live abroad when I move out whether it's for university, or after university! and I really want to go travelling even if it's by myself, I enjoy my own company!

I spend a lot of the time blogging and reading(John Green, my living legend) and far too much of my time resolves around one direction.

-What is your favorite album?

So far; One Direction - Midnight Memories

I also love Ben Howard

-How do you consider your style?

My style differs a lot from summer to winter! In summer, I'm a lot more confident with what I wear and to show a bit of skin! 

Whereas in winter, I make less of an effort. When I'm going for a casual look - slip on some jeans, a plain t-shirt and a coat! For accessories I love to wear scarfs (tartan are my favourite)

-Fashion icon/inspiration?

I have so many:S

Laura Whitmore, she's super pretty and an amazing inspiration, her clothes always are spotless! Laura can pull anything off! Deffinatley someone I look up to! 

I also love Lauren Conrad, she's curvy and someone I feel I can relate to in that sense!

-Favourite fashion store?

I love the clothes in topshop but I never shop there because it's way to over priced so I'd say river island, American appeal or miss guided! 

-Favourite food?

Hard one! Probably chocolate, who doesn't like chocolate?

-Cats or dogs?

Dogs, I'm obsessed with dogs 

-Item that you can't live without?

My iphone!

-What are you listening and wearing right now?

I'm listening to Max Milner - Morning Rope! and I'm wearing a white long sleeved top, a grey skater skirt, thick woollen black tights, leather jacket, of course my tartan scarf and Chelsea boots!

-The most important thing you want to do in the summer?

This summer, I'd love to just chill out a lot with my friends and have some downtime with my family.

-How do you see yourself in the future?

I never know how to answer this, I'd love to become successful in whatever I end up doing whether it's; makeup artist, interior design or fashion designer, fashion designing is something Id LOVE to do but, it's a big industry! But never give up hope

Cactus Interview: Henry

He is Henry and he's one of the greates photographers... and he is so young!

-Tell us about you

 My name's Henry (or @henryagain to most)! I'm 15 years old and I'm from the good old state of Texas. I love photography, writing, and reading. I've been taking pictures for about a year and a half and it's my number one favorite thing to do.

  -What is your favorite album?

 This is a really tough question, but probably Pure Heroine by Lorde or If You Leave by Daughter. Those. Those are two albums where I can hit play and listen from the first track to the last.

  -How do you start to get interested on photography?

 I got an Instagram 3 summers ago, and then the second summer I had it I found Instagrammers like @zooooooe and @fiorra and got really inspired by the photos they took and posted and all their adventures. I decided I'd take a crack at the Instagram photography game and the rest is history!

  -Favourite camera?

 I really like Canon Rebel T3i, but if I could get another camera that would be my favorite I would say that Canon 6D!

-Favourite food?

 I like a lot of different kinds of food, but I really like pizza and mashes potatoes. They're random foods but super delicious.

  -Cats or dogs?

 I like both for different reasons, but probably cats!

  -Item that you can't live without?

 My camera. I know it's cliche but I don't know what I'd do without it!

  -What are you listening and wearing right now?

 I'm listening to Tomorrow by Daughter and wearing a shirt and basketball shorts!

  -How do you see yourself in the future?

Working in New York City at a publishing company, publishing or editing tons of new books!
