The first thing that comes into people's mind when you talk about cacti is their pokiness. I personally don't adore thorny cacti as much, but some cacti are so soft and fluffy and I love petting them once in a while! Mammillaria Gracilis is one of those fluff buns. It pokes sometimes, but with plenty of sunlight gives more tactile satisfaction than menacing killer intent. A beginner tip: go for this cactus, it won't go wrong 🙂

My ABSOLUTE favorite pot of succulent in my garden? Definitely my Graptopetalum 'Purple Delight'. I got it for sale at first, but thought of owning it myself (same goes for all my other succulents for sale actually LOL). Luckily I decided to keep it, because it's honestly the easiest ever lotus-y succulent one can grow! Loves its full sunbath everyday, doesn't mind the Malaysian humidity, not even our crazy rain can topple its tenacity: succulent beginners, get this one and you won't regret it. Let's hope that one day mine grows so tall and fat that a swing can be fit onto it. I need a treehouse swing!!!

I drew something! 

Featuring one of my succulent collection: Echeveria Chihuahuaensis. I have no idea why is it called Chihuahua, but the name's definitely working.

But luckily, some cacti, despite being under pressure from the social expectations of societies, are never thorny at all! In fact, some can be as fluffy as the dandelions in your gardens, and they are my FAV succulents ever.

Astrophytum Asterias Super Kabuto is one of the fluffballs that deserve more attention for its interesting look. It is not called "ASTROphytum" without a reason: dotted lines and patterns can fill up its whole body, akin to a night brimming with stars!

I love to imagine if succulents were as huge as mountains: instead of tall leafy trees we would get plants with fat, humongous, meaty leaves as thick as the tree trunks of sequoias or kaoris; instead of the Everest we would have a Haworthia as the tallest known mountain on Earth, and I would most definitely climb it!

But a gigantic thorny cactus sounds like a trouble... Anyway, featuring another collection of mine: Haworthia Reinwardtii.

These  Mammillaria gracilis are weirdos. They are (deemed by me) one of the cacti that UTTERLY love being watered. I mean, seriously, they look so much happier when it rained everyday than when cloud is non-existent. 

If you are a beginner, I highly recommend these babes: SUPER common, doesn’t mind low light condition, doesn’t mind torture-level DIRECT sunlight either, doesn’t mind being watered everyday, propagate EZPZly, what more can you ask tbh.

Throwback to our succulent workshop two months ago, it was a blast! Teaching and sharing about succulents will always be fun for me, idk why but it feels good knowing that people would be happier to see their plants grow stronger!
