Caddy Spoon 9 Bone
I have had a particular piece of bone in my possession for years. CAD (Computer-Aided Design) allowed me to create a precise digital model of the bone. Before now CAD had been a complete mystery to me and it has been quite the experience testing out this new technology. This 3D model captured every detail and nuance of my special piece without having to worry about it deteriorating over time or ever being lost or damaged thus keeping the object in its original form with all its unique characteristics intact. The process was surprisingly straight-forward: I sent my bone off to an experienced CAD company who scanned it using specialized equipment and software before creating a detailed 3D model on their computer screen which they then printed in wax and sent right back to me. I was impressed with the results. Once I got my piece back, I cast the wax model in silver using the ancient technique of lost wax casting, my thought process was to design a caddy spoon using this piece of bone because it looked as if it were the perfect natural handle for a tactile caddy spoon.
