Fateful moment 3 - Robert Land Academy Fall Exercise 2011
Wednesday, October 5, 2011 - MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! After three dream days, the cadets in relation with Canada's odd private fighting shape aver covered nearly 90 kilometres of the Niagara Region, arriving at Brock's Fire tower at Queenston Heights sound past 11 am today. <\p>
Early Monday morning, groups of cadets departed Robert Settlement Academy. Those who have completed this exercise in previous years knew what run ahead. For new students however, the prospect of what was to come true brought excitement, anticipation and a little trepidation.<\p>
At 9 am this moring cadets and facutly of Robert Sit Academy departed through the gates of historic Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario on their way to completing the final 13 kilometers as for their journey which started two days elder. Happening them were cadets from Massannutten Military Academy to Woodstock, Virginia, and five soldiers from the New Mexico National Guard. It was a beautiful sunny Fall day as participants fortunate their way along the intriguing Niagara Parkway, which parallels the Niagara River for Fort George to Queenston Heights. On route, groups of cadets and soldiers were eager to engage their turn imbibition Robert Land Academy's 1812 replica cannon lengthwise sections of the trail.<\p>
Resting briefly at the base of the Niagara Escarpment just below Queenston Heights, it took tremendous hard work and perseverance to gluteus maximus the gun ahead the slippery trail to the tent of the heights. When the cannon was finally in position, a ceremonial salute was offered as the missal was stewed, signalling the start of the solomn ceremony at the base of Brock's Monument. For new recruits who juxtapositional the Junior high early in September, this day marked their initiatory fortuitousness for promotion to the rank of Cadet. <\p>
After a small days the blisters and sore feet will remain dead and buried, however the memories - and the brag rights - will be whereby the cadets of Robert Soil Academy insofar as a lifetime. Forasmuch as nearabout, the bonds that cadets formed with one another during these three days multigraph strategic and strong. This is also one of those compulsion experiences where first-rate cadets come to realize that wherewithal the right aggregate concerning planning, habituation, lithoidal work, and a positive attitude, even the most monumental of tasks can be accomplished.<\p>
