AU Asks!

Deets: What is an AU you’ve wanted to write your S/I and your F/Os into? (Optional: Why haven’t you?) Alternatively, what’s your favorite AU you’ve already written?

Hm, I could write more on the KH AU but tbh I see it mostly as a fun vehicle for drawing crossover looks fksahfkjdsahk so that’s why I don’t write on it. The other AUs I have for Philly are modern au (fave tbh), a crossover with Shizuo called Wendy Protection Squad (hmmm it would be funny to throw Kunikida into this one too now that I’m remembering it fjdshkhdsa), vaguely werewolf!Wendy AU, and the aforementioned KH AU.

A word about Wendy Protection Squad - link to fics here. The basis of it is Philly and Shizuo are suddenly transported to a location that seems random. I’m also there. However, I don’t remember either of them (it’s me as a mix between the two SIs). They of course both remember their entire canon with me - as in, long term romantic relationship. They also don’t get along at all. And are pretty jealous of each other and kinda fighting over me. of course, this places we’ve been teleported to turns out to be dangerous so they have to put that aside. Boy did I have ideas for this but I totally stalled on it. It is a fun AU though hehe.

My favorite AU for Philly is modern AU though. It has some serious catharsis and like coping with things from my past. In it, Philly and I went to high school together, but he was regarded as a delinquent and a terrible student, and I was (as irl) the 4.0 valedictorian. But, for whatever reason, we became friends (and mutual crushes). But my parents, teachers, friends...none of them were thrilled about me being friends with the delinquent. Anyway, after graduation, he simply disappears, and I never see him again, until one day almost a decade later we meet up by sheer luck (or was it fate ordained?). We become friends again, and find that our crushes never really went away.

Philly’s still immortal in that (though his healing isn’t instant anymore, it’s just “unusually fast” enough to pass under the medical radar) AU, and this AU gives me a good space to tackle the fact that I think that’s fucking traumatizing guys. It’s also nice because modern AU Wendy is just. Wendy. So when things are hard irl I can turn to this AU and Philly is right there ready to comfort me. I’m also delighted to be able to pull in other characters to this and I have so many fics I need to write about them fksjafhksa AND! And. It’s really funny to write parallels between the past (high school) and the future, or more likely juxtapositions. To get to play with both those things. And a lot of the writing I’ve done for it I’m really, really proud of still.

Jasper: How do you and your F/O help each other if one of you gets ill?

Oh man. You know, this honestly brings up a question of whether we, as immortals, can get sick. I kind of wonder if we can’t, tbh. Definitely not me as an immortal cause...my power heals immediately.

BUT! We can of course get sick in modern AU since I’m not immortal and I tweaked his immortality there. In modern au Philly is gonna aggressively make me chicken soup and buy me all the cold medicines in the world (me @ him I CAN’T TAKE ALL OF THEM CHILL) and then plant himself by my bedside and make sure I do everything to feel better. Very instantly protective, slaps my phone out of my hands (I’m joking but also he’s def like put that down and nap), does NOT let me work when I feel sick...he worries. He tries to play it off as nothing for a hot second but obviously that doesn’t totally pass :p

when he’s sick I don’t think he tells me necessarily. But when I find out it’s a similar story, except I’m more gentle and less aggressive about it JKHWEKJWE I’ll cook for him, and make sure he rests and keep him company. I feel like this might make him emotional since he’s been mostly on his own for so long 🥺

Agate: What is your favourite way to relax with your F/O? Conversely, how do you and your F/O like to have fun?

Relaxing under the stars with some food and booze is a solid one for us. It’s kind of a tradition after we’ve had so many memorable moments under the stars (including our proposal hehe). At night in the middle of the desert we’re a lot less likely for someone to come after us to hurt us, so we can usually relax a bit.

Philly likes to go drinking and I’ll go with, though I won’t usually get drunk myself :p someone has to stay sober for when we inevitably get attacked. He’s also pretty into gambling (even if he SUCKS a lot of the time lol) which is something I watch but generally won’t participate in. But a very fun thing for both of us actually getting to go eat good food in a restaurant fjhkshfsdj we’re both very food motivated and that is a rare treat.

I’ll admit sometimes we have fun fighting people too but we don’t go looking for that it just happens :p

Actually I’m really proud of our modern au still! I hope it’s not oversharing to say this but like. I was able to incorporate some shit from childhood that was bugging me into it, and like it’s really helped me find some resolution and feel like I can cope with it? Which is really cool!!!

In the modern au Philly and I were high school friends (and mutual crushes oops)! He was immortal back then and lived in foster care (he never got properly adopted and ow my heart) and he was...struggling. He died a bunch around that time. But my parents and friends didn’t approve of me being friends with someone like that (that was a whole thing to unpack let me tell you) so it was really hard? And I tried to keep him from knowing that but he kind of figured it out anyway

ANYWAY then we graduated and never spoke again until I ran into him while I was commuting! And it was like hey...let’s...be friends again? And this time there was no one to tell me I couldn’t be his friend and we both fell in love all over again ;w;

also in this, Philly is a car mechanic! And a car enthusiast with a prized pink Cadillac :D

ALSO ALSO I still need to write this but Sam and Casey meet Philly, he gives them directions in the grocery store, and they immediately decide he is their BEST FRIEND and just like start showing up at his house and stuff HFJKWEHFJWE

both of them are still secret Androids made by a company called Yoogle. Sam also violates the Geneva Convention if you were wondering KFEHWFJKW they came with Prince Kelby (who is I guess not a Prince but the son of Yoogle’s extremely wealthy CEO) to America to watch over him.

NOTABLY I really need to write a fic where Philly and I are at the mall and he SEES THEM and he’s like SHIT SHIT SHIT FUCK and he pulls me aside to hide behind a corner and I’m like Philly, what the fuck- and he’s like SHHHH QUIET okay they’re gone phew-

HI PHILLY! They appear and accost him and demand to know why they haven’t been introduced to me KFEWHJKFW

in the end we end up spending time with Sam/Casey/Kelby/Odin (secretly watching over Kelby, bad at being subtle) cause that kid (in college now) did NOT know how to adult and neither did Sam and Casey (and they refused to let Odin help of course).

Oh also I wanted to post some headcanons about If Co//vid Happened And My Faves Existed for the two I’ve thought about with this (Kabu and modern au Philly) so under the cut are the ramblings

With Kabu and Golden, it’s extra stressful because they can’t see each other if borders between countries are closed. And it wasn’t in the cards for one of them to rush over to the others country before that happened - both of them have things that mean they couldn’t be gone indefinitely (Kabu with his responsibilities as a leader in Galar, Golden with a ranch full of Poke’mon).

Honestly it’s...really hard for them and something they struggle with. It will become the longest they’ve gone without seeing each other, probably. Golden ends up staying up late to talk to Kabu more and more often until her schedule kind of shifts a bit to accommodate that. She sleeps in a lot now. Kabu maintains consistency and worries about her change in schedule but he understands she’s just coping.

Now then, on to modern au with Philly

At first we’re isolating separately in our own homes. But one day Philly calls me and he’s like OKAY LOOK HERE’S THE DEAL I HAVEN’T LEFT MY HOUSE FOR TWO WEEKS I AM ALMOST OUT OF FOOD CAN I JUST MOVE IN WITH YOU NOW?

If he had asked me I would have let him move in sooner but he felt like he had to do that to make sure I felt comfortable so ;w; but then he does move in. At first with not nearly enough of his stuff, but as the thing drags on we go and get more and more of his stuff until more or less everything but his furniture is here. And we’re like well. When your lease runs out guess you should just move your furniture here too and call it a day.

So that’s a happier one. It’s super nice for both of us to not go crazy alone though we’re not used to having the other around constantly, but we both value having time to ourselves so it actually works out really well.
