My self-insert OC for Crisis Core was one of Angeal’s childhood friends. She moved away from their village while they were still kids. Before she left, she promised to find him when they’d grown up and achieved their dreams, and they would never be separated again.

It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m so pathetically empathetic. My heart shattered when I found out what he thought about himself, especially since I held him in such high regard.
He made a stupid vow to become a SOLDIER and protect humanity from any and all monsters that may threaten their safety. That vow remained even after he’d discovered the circumstances of his birth and the abilities he gained as a result. He didn’t feel worthy of the honor and dignity he’d worked so hard to maintain, because he was just another monster and the world would be much better off without him.
I guess I feel like things might have turned out differently if he just had someone to talk to about the way he was feeling? Someone to keep him grounded, to tell him how worthy he really was and maybe keep him from doing something stupid. I would have sat with him for hours if he needed me to.

My oc was also a victim of the lies that led Angeal to his death and Sephiroth to madness. She lost both of her childhood best friends, one of which was her husband, and received no explanation as to why. The company she worked for was responsible for all three events; if she were to abandon her position, she’d likely join Sephiroth in his quest to destroy the world.
As a scientist, her knowledge of the planet would be invaluable to him. She’d assist in anything he needed, not because she shared his desire to destroy Gaia, but because they were friends. He was the last thing she cared about by then.

Morgan, the human of the group, aka my OC. At this time of the story he has been with the autobots for a few years. He met Bumblebee first. Instead of trying to go out on the fields and doing risky missions, he kind of turned himself into someone who keeps an eye on everything for the team.
Rewind, the smallest member by far but that doesn't mean he can't take damage as well as do a little in the meantime. He's smart, quick but he's a little not into showing that side of himself.
