Breathe in. Hwayoung closed her eyes as she stretched her arms over her head and slowly bent over, reaching her feet. Breathe out. She slowly rose up and opened her eyes again, taking in the the sight of the schools large and green exterior. The track was where she went weekly to let free, but the red soil could never rival with the beauty of green grass and the sound of leaves rustling- running outside definitely made her feel complete.
Another thing that made her whole wasn’t just exercising surrounded by the earth, but pushing herself. It was often said that she always pushed things too far, went overboard or is just way to invested. Hwayoung could’t see how that could be meant as anything but a compliment. Reaching that point of exhaustion was the prove of strength, power and a job well done. And she never settled for less.
She grabbed her foot and held it against the back of her knee stretching her hamstrings as she waited. Hwayoung was about to switch to the other foot when a familiar silhouette caught her eye. She let her foot fall back to the ground as a smile spread on her face and she waved at the person. “Hey! I almost thought you had stood me up, I who was looking forwards to our little run” she joked as she walked towards her track teammate.
