when the angel appeared, claire couldn’t help but roll her eyes. “the one night i don’t pray to you, you show up? how’s that work?” she said, bottle of whiskey held fast in small hands. she’d drank too much. and honestly, maybe she did pray to him tonight. she couldn’t be sure. all she knew was it was too much for him to be standing here right now.

“I am not your problem do you understand me?” Dean appreciates the sentiment but he, better than anyone, knows the signs of dependency. Maybe he hadn’t voiced these exact words to Sam but he’s acted on them, felt them, multiple times. This has to be different. He wants more for Cas then that. Dudes an angel. He’s slumming it with the humans now but there has to be more for him. 

“I got through it without you just like I always do. I’m fine” this is sounding harsh and Dean hears it, sure to soften his features to compensate. He has always had an odd way of speaking in statements even when trying to comfort. “You had shit to do man, I haven’t gotten that in the past but it’s clicking now” firm clap on Cas’s shoulder but his hand remains. Dean isn’t okay. He’s not fine. None of this is fine but they’ve got bigger problems right now....

And maybe, just maybe, he doesn’t want to crawl down that rabbit hole of feelings for fear of loosing himself completely.

oh thank you so much !! i saw that screencap of sam and thought it'd be perfect ! it's supposed to represent the road he's taking - the life he's chosen - and the fact he's alone and so small is my way of representing his own perspective on himself. it probably sounds ridiculous but- i just think there's more meaning than what meets the eye !!

lavender hues are filled with curiousity, and a hand rises to sweep a loose strand of silver hair behind her ear. the energy is familiar, it felt angelic, and it did take a little longer than usual to realise whom it was. eyes lifted to the other, and she lightly tilts her head to the side, remaining quiet for a moment before a slight smile crossed her face.“i’m always careful. i’ve lasted this long.”her voice was soft, and she rose to her feet and began to take a few steps towards him, the smile still on her face. it was always so strange to her when someone did not flee from her presence. even some angels avoided her, but she knew CASTIEL was different. the stories that she had heard already were impressive.
