Aidan didn't know what he was thinking. He shouldn't have had so much confidence in his truck after it'd been out of commission for the night or in his own poor winter driving abilities. Visibility was low, the roads unplowed, and as snow continued to fall, he uselessly twisted the key in the ignition, listening to the engine splutter again and again. "Piece of shit, c'mon... c'mon," he stressed, one hand gripping the wheel tight. But then he saw something. Faint and bleary, the yellow flash of headlights caught in the rearview mirror. Aidan turned to squint through the back window, seconds ticking by before he made out the shape of an approaching vehicle. He laid in on the horn, not planning to let up until they stopped or also careened into him to join his truck half in the ditch.
