I feel like she may have doubled in size since that dive. Ironically, I grew u with a intense fear of sharks as a surfer in Hawaii, thanks to media like the movie Jaws. Meet #sharkIDTank!! Photo by @juansharks What sharks did you meet during your dive? While out in the water we count and ID sharks to better understand shark behavior and numbers. Every shark features different scars and some spark for particular behaviors. Tigers, for example, are a generally cautious and gentle species, but some are shyer then others. Some will stick around, curious, while others will gently swim away. The more we learn about sharks, the more we realize that we still have SO MUCH MORE to learn. Above water shot by @juansharks. 📸 Taken in Guadalupe. ・・・ You have to swipe left to see the top side shot of this great white shark jumping straight up, and not going forward but rather just sinking straight down.  I was lucky enough to get the top side shot and  @deanocook caught the action underwater. I have never seen anything quite like this with white sharks. Even if the media taught us to fear it doesn’t mean we can change our mindset through experience. Sharks aren’t the problem, lack of understanding of their nature is. Then I started to watch documentaries, videos, Ted talks, to learn more about these misunderstood pelagic animals and to read researches about their importance to the health of our ocean, instead of relying on the misleading information that media feed us. Do you still think sharks are monsters? ... Or more like the cutest thing you’ve seen today? A baby black tip reef shark coming to say hi to @juansharks 😍 ・・・ Baby black tip reef shark meets toes for his 1st time and I still have all of my toes. #smartbaby Really considering how much a splashing humans looks like a hurt injured animal swimming or surfing that sharks don’t make more mistaken Identity bites.
