Shedding and Breakage
I think this is something I will always struggle with. I will never be able to perfect my regime to the point where my shedding/breakage stops. I’ve reconciled with that fact even if it is annoying.
After a desparate - and I know it must have been desparate because my mum never calls me about hair. Ever since I started my hair journey, she’s been like ‘stay in your lane and I’ll stay in mine and we’ll see whose hair falls out first.’ She thinks I’m using too many different products and isn’t really bothered to listen to what each of them do. However, she is getting awestruck with my hair but she just wants me to 'do’ her hair rather than learn how to do her own hair.
She called and asked how to deal with shedding and I had a list of suggestions that I’d read about or heard through the grapevine. If anyone has an further suggestions, please help a mama-and-daughter-duo out!
A couple things I’ve learnt which have helped me out immensely are that 1) Shedding is longer strands with a white bulb at the top, 2) Breakage is shorter strands that can have splits in them and that 3) Some shedding is normal.
I’ve crossed out the ones I’ve tried that have helped some.
