Day 11 - my favourite quote This is one that was instilled into me by my coach, it's more a story than a quote but it's my favourite. "I once overheard a fella at a race and this is what he said, he was talking to one of the other coaches 'Those Coleraine Inst boys, they aren't the biggest or the strongest, they don't have the greatest technique either so how do they win so many races and do so well?' The other coach said 'They do so well because they have balls the size of melons, they have no quit in them. They hang on and they push themselves until they've got nothing left in them' " During my time at Inst, we always heard this from our coach when describing I think it was the crew of '97. It was the same with my year, we were tiny when compared to the southern Irish crews, but we hung on and we fought it out. I like to think that a little bit of this has been instilled in me and lives til this day. I'm not the biggest, I'm not the strongest but I will die before I admit defeat. I will empty everything I have into the competition and if I lose it's because you were simply better than me this time. I know I gave everything.
