Reminder that I write bible fanfiction about Satan and Cain
“I had no choice!” Michael screamed. “I’m the oldest, the first, the strongest! Had I not done as They wanted, who would be sent after my brother?”
The proud archangel looked so fragile now, so broken. His wings were still the same golden color Cain remembered, and they still shined so brightly.
But Cain had fixed Lucifer’s wings often enough to know that Michael was far from healthy.
“We are strong,” Michael continued. “But They are our creator. Had I not pushed Lucifer, the young ones would have been made to fight. More than just Samael would have died and- it’s not my fault. It’s not.”
Cain sat back down on his bed.
I pushed Lucifer.
He wondered how many people knew the truth. The light bringer hadn’t fallen, hadn’t thrown himself off heaven’s gates. He had been pushed.
“Do you actually believe that?” Cain asked.
Michael’s eyes lit up with fury, but he didn’t move from the chair he’d been sitting on.
Thought so.
“Did you know her?” Cain asked.
Lucifer didn’t move, he kept his eyes glued to the TV and continued flipping through the channels.
“Lilith I mean.”
“Why do you ask?”
“I knew her,” Cain admitted. “After Abel- I couldn’t go back to mother and father.”
Cain stares at his hands, their white color a harsh contrast to his skin. In every life, they never failed to be white. The color of purity, the color of death. Wherever Abel’s blood has touched Cain’s skin, white marked it.
“I didn’t know of Lilith before she let me cry in her arms. My parents never spoke of her.”
Lucifer snorted. “I’d be surprised if they did. They loved her dearly, but Lilith didn’t care for that kind of love. She chose to go, see the world beyond Eden.”
“Alone?”
“Was she alone when you met her?”
Lucifer was smiling now, mischievously because he already knew the answer and was making fun of Cain.
“No, she was surrounded by other people. Children, sisters, brothers, friends- She wasn’t lonely.”
“There you have it.”
Cain rolled his eyes and dug his cold feet underneath Lucifer’s legs.
“I asked you if you knew her.”
“I did.”
“And?”
All these centuries spent together, yet sometimes part of the Grace Cain couldn’t see slipped through Lucifer’s human expressions, making him u readable.
“She wasn’t lonely when you met her,” Lucifer repeated. “We were when we met.”
Cain is - by the way - a university student who is depending on public transport.
And Lucifer is a very dedicated teacher.
So I’ve decided to post what I hesitantly call the first chapter of my Cain and- story.
Here’s a link if you want to take a look!
Introducing two more side characters of Cain and- Father James and Sister Cecilia.
“So, he claims to be the devil.”
James had not signed up for this. This being Sister Cecilia’s mad plan to make the harsh blonde man with the beautiful singing voice the parish’s new choir leader. Already few words exchanged with Lucifer, which yes was his legal name, were enough to characterize him as a troubled young man with no interest in religion.
But he still came to mass every Sunday, just to sing.
If even just a tenth of his parish showed up as dutiful as Lucifer, James wouldn’t be struggling to keep his church together.
The man was made up of contradiction. He was dressed quite well, definitely earning twice if not thrice the money of the other people in this part of the city, but still chose James’s church to go to. If he spoke of God, he did so with derision and scorn, but if anyone acted out during mass or treated the church with disrespect, he’d scold them.
“But I don’t really see the problem! He isn’t mean to anyone and he seemed to enjoy picking out the songs yesterday-“
“You let him pick out the songs?” James interrupted.
Cecilia rolled her eyes. “Yes, he played the organ as well, didn’t you notice?”
No, James hadn’t noticed because he’d been busy worrying about whether they’d get enough money together for the Christmas dinner this year.
James pinched his nose.
“Alright, okay. Fine. You want to make the devil our new choir leader? Go ahead. Just make sure he actually teaches the kids some songs we can have them sing in mass.”
Cecilia smiled and playfully knocked her elbow into James’s side.
“I’m sure Lucifer will think of something fun! Maybe he’ll finally bring his boyfriend too....”
Something fun, yes. His mother, so pure and conservative, had been so proud when her son had become a priest. If she could see him now, she’d be scandalized.
But his mother had also been an absolute bitch who had nearly thrown him out of the house when she caught him kissing his first boyfriend.
So.
James really didn’t care.
Ok I first got interested in ur tumblr for the Jason Todd shit , i was noy ready to be blow away because of a conversation between Lucifer and Cain . Are u playing to publish more of as a text/ fic or more snippets cuz oh I'm so down for it .
Honestly I wasn’t either. I can promise more Jason stuff is coming this way too hahaha
And yeah! I’m planning on writing more! Today I basically structured the bits I already have and decided on how I want to write it. The problem is figuring out how much I want to reveal at once hahaha. When I got some more I think I’ll post on AO3?
