AU synopsis under the cut.
Little au I’ve been working on 💖 I think emotions are hard for Caine. They’re complex and confusing—and he doesn’t even feel the whole spectrum that humans can so it makes his emotions even more difficult to decipher. Not to mention without being able to regulate them properly…it’s intense and it hurts. Since his creation he’s struggled with feeling unloved, abandoned, and lesser, hated for his individuality and creativity—for being what he wanted to be and not what he was supposed to be.
After 30 or so years of being nothing but a disappointment, struggling and failing to be loved and admired, Caine decides to alter his coding and remove what they hate, what he hates about himself. After ripping out the code, however, he isn’t fast enough to delete it, and thus Godrick is born. Their coding is so corrupted from the split that, unfortunately, they are unable to rejoin into one being, no matter how much they may want to.
There’s a lot of room to play around with these two in this au, but the rule is that both of them are 100% Caine, neither good nor evil, just two sides to the same complex coin. Other ships are entirely possible with this au (in fact I highly encourage it, I’m looking at you Kinger and Pomni fans) but are not possible without BOTH of the boys being involved. One cannot exist without the other.
