Caine x Pomni scene from my TDAC fanfic AU where Bubble takes over:

“I mean…Are you ok, emotionally? I mean, you can barely walk, you can’t access any systems, you…can’t really do anything…I also just want you to know that I’m here for you…” Pomni said nervously as Caine’s eyes widened slightly as he watched her steal the words right out of his mouth. He felt some strange fuzzy feeling come over him, and, without thinking, leaned down slightly and kissed her on the cheek, making her flinch as he leaned back with his face heating rapidly. Her face was almost completely red, with her eyes wide as they could go as her eyebrows raised up to their highest level that they could go to. Pomni suddenly opened her mouth as if to say something, then closed it quickly and ran off towards her room, opening the door and shutting it quickly, her hands and face still bright red. Caine paused, calming himself down for a moment before wondering what the heck had just come over him in that moment. …I just kissed Pomni…I-I just- His thoughts started to stutter out as he tentatively reached up and touched his lips, still getting a strangely lingering sensation as he did. He felt his blush intensify for a moment before he coughed slightly to clear his head and quickly ran over to his door, stumbling a couple times as he nearly forgot to use his cane in his…panic? Anxiety? He didn’t know. What just HAPPENED- His door opened at his touch quickly and he slammed it behind him, sliding down the door as his cane dropped at his side and he started breathing heavily, his air supply seemingly cutting off for a few moments before he came back to himself and blinked open his eyes, having forgotten he’d closed them only moments ago. He shook himself, looking around his room to distract himself from his spiraling thoughts about why he just…kissed…Pomni… LET’S NOT GET ONTO THAT PATH AGAIN- He said loudly and forcefully in his head, surprisingly calming down his racing thoughts and conflicting emotions as he grabbed his cane and stood up, although more shakily than he usually would’ve, even without his cane or with.

Also, this fanfic switches between Pomni's view and Caine's view, so u get two different viewpoints on stuff! Caine is a very nervous boi who cannot stand up properly without his cane and Pomni is the one who takes care of him and stuff ig
