New ask game!
Tell me how you pronounce my character’s name!
Can we all sit back an imagine a grown-ass man reacting like this to getting his weaponry back:
He shrieked like a preteen girl who’d just discovered Justin Bieber was coming to her hometown for a concert.
Cainnhyr's greatest anxiety and favorite color?
Cainnhyr loves all shades of the color green, except that ugly pukey-pea green.
His greatest anxiety is confrontation. He hates arguments and being yelled at.
Where did Cainnhyr get the magic sword?
A brilliant question!
Caille, the sword in question, has existed for…well, no one’s really sure. The stories say the goddesses all came together and created it with the magic from the land (which is why their magic no longer is drawn directly from the land–it belongs to the sword).
Few people have the ability to handle her, simply because magic is drawn from one’s life source–the more powerful the magic used the more the life source is drained. So her wielder has to have a pretty high resistance to the power.
Cainnhyr was discovered to have a natural resistance to it in part because of his personality–it was decided he had good enough judgement to not use the weapon needlessly.
By the time he came along it was in the terms of the Gohmanii-Aeldradain alliance that Caille remained in the human palace, and her wielder with it. So he was taken to the palace and pulled from his life as an entertainer.
Cainnhyr’s OC Day Moodboard
With nature magic and star magic as his main powers, it’s no wonder those became such meaningful things to him, and he became a traveler. It’s no wonder he knows the land so well.
Fun Facts about Cainnhyr
Some fun facts about my wandering elf-boy!
Most Aeldradai tend to have children with another from their own tribe. Crosses are fairly uncommon (with the exception of Leirowyn-Kaehmysan types). Cainnhyr’s mother was Aesynian, his father however was Teiorran. So instead of having a strong natural magic in either one type, he’s stronger in those two types than others, but weaker in both than a “natural born” would be.
He didn’t know he was the wielder of the magic sword until he was almost 25, by that time he had a fairly stable job as a travelling entertainer, mostly performing magic shows for young human children. He didn’t really mind that each show would shorten his life, in fact he embraced this fact.
He really doesn’t like living in the palace, and only puts up with it because he has to.
He’s a secretive little shit, but only towards Pyrran and his close followers, anyone who might tell on him.
He has connections in Kyrfeil, the criminal tribe.
It's Cainnhyr's OC Day!
