Colorado Snowflakes

Despite not yet having played in the snow this season, we've been in an extra wintery mood. We caught up with photographer Karim Iliya, currently visiting the snowy winter lands of Boulder, Colorado, and he shared some of his recent photos - macro snowflake shots. Love bouncing ideas back and forth with him and seeing what he captures with his creativity through the lens!

We love finding the beauty in nature, and these macro shots are awesome because they allow us a glimpse of something usually fleeting to the eye. Enjoy!

Bywater Musings

Believe it or not, New Orleans is more than Bourbon Street, Mardi Gras and Hurricane Katrina. This city is about self expression in the best possible way - never worrying what others think about you because everyone else is just as weird. Freak flags are flying and creativity is flowing. Pack a picnic of fresh satsuma juice and Prosecco, grab your cute pup, and walk through the Bywater neighborhood to Crescent Park. That's what we did this week, and the walk was full of sweet little surprises. 

The Bywater is full of funky little houses painted in bright colors with decorations like a fake deer handing upside down on the front porch. We picked up some local honey and jasmine mist from a new shop, Maypop Community Herb Shop, watched the sun set from the park and of course snapped some Refunktion photos. 

Repurposed floral skirt and vintage maxi dress will be hitting the Etsy shop soon. 

We love this city!
