Sun came out today and it cured me of my illness™️temporarily so take this:
Caitlyn x Maddie x Vi [683 words]
Maddie is anything but a Winter Person.
Patrols are cold and wet, her nose is stuffy all the time and she can't feel her fingers after being outside for a few three minutes.
If it were for her, everyone would just hibernate until the temperatures are in the positive double digits again. Unfortunateley though: Crime does not sleep through the winter, so she can't either.
Cue a very much frozen through Maddie, stomping into the shared bedroom of Vi, Caitlyn and her. She's dragging the snow from under her boots across the entire place with every step and just as Caitlyn is about to give her a scolding about it, she kicks them off at the foot of the bed where they'll stay to form a puddle the rest of the night. Maddie then tosses off every other piece of her uniform, down to her white button up, before crawling up onto the bed to squeeze between the two others, laying on her side to face Caitlyn.
She's just about to slide her hands under Caits sleep shirt to rest around her waist as she usually does, but the Kiramman pulls back almost immediatley.
"Fuck, you're cold!"
Vi snickers a bit at that before scooting up behind Maddie to curl up around her.
"Awh, is the princess not used to a little—God!! What are you, a corpse?!"
Vi flinches away too upon feeling Maddies entirely cold body. It's honestly uncanny how cold to the touch she is. Maddies shivering, teeth chattering and constant sniffling should've been a sign but neither of the two expected a human Ice Cube.
Maddie tugs the blanket up to her nose, trying to sink further into the Pillows and Mattress while soaking up any bit of warmth radiating from Caitlyn and Vi despite the distance they're keeping from her.
Caitlyn just gives Vi a look, to which the pinkette responds with a nod before slipping out of bed.
"I'm going to get you a hot watter bottle and some tea." she announced as she disappeared from the room.
Awkwardly but with heightened concern, Caitlyn would eye the shivering form cowering under the blanket beside her. She didn't really like the cold that much either and was so cozy and warm in this moment.
But what is Love if not a sacrafice. So, very slowly to savour her final moments of warmth, she slid closer to Maddie again, wrapping an arm around her. Goosebumps immediatley bloomed on her skin and a shaky breath escaped her throat, but the way she could feel Maddies muscles untense ever so slightly at finally being warmed up was sort of worth it.
Eventually Vi made it back, handing Maddie the hot water bottle which the ginger proceeded to hold close to her chest. She kept the thermos on the bedside for now, it would stay hot for a while longer anyway.
The pinkette slipped back under the sheets as well, keeping her distance to the still frozen Maddie, but another glare from Caitlyn made her relent and sacrafice her own comfort as well. She grumbled a small 'you'll owe me for this' into the gingers ear, knowing she probably didn't mean it at all. It still earned her a subtle kick from Caitlyn though.
This situation reminded Vi of her life in the lanes. Heating wasn't the best and although the air was moslty dense and warm, the cold still snuck in from time to time. She remembered shivering but still doing her best to curl around a freezing Powder, giving her the last warmth she could provide. She also remembered Vander, pleasent like a furnace, finding the two and scooping them up to warm up in his strong arms as they all dozed off, squished onto his favourite armchair.
It made her hold Maddie just a little tighter and she wondered if the ginger ever before had someone to keep her warm during winter. Maybe she was this cold because she never had the chance to completely thaw, a million winters of being frozen still settled deep in the gingers bones.
