Calaminus - Jiggle - Celtic fusion from German one-man band
This one's a favorite of mine out of the celtic influenced tunes I made in 2012 for the 2nd Calaminus album "On the Trail". It jiggles around jazz fusion and celtic music & uplifts me with every listen. This year I'll be back to Scotland again, so this track's a perfect start for 2015! Hopefully for you as well :-) Enjoy & jiggle. Oh, btw: "On the Trail" is still available for free download & listen @ http://www.archive.org/details/Calaminus-OnTheTrail
By all means: "WANNABE" is a really groovy (no surprise, if you know my stuff), almost ironical, bass-driven, versatile instrumental track with some "soulful" vocals and that spice of positive energy which keeps us moving :-) The vocals are not mine and I'm NOT a bad bad girl *haha*, but they are lyrically chosen from some adlips/loops to topic what people might wanna be (even if they aren't able). Logically this topic doesn't lead automatically into musical trash, so I hope you'll enjoy this fun(k) tune & find your inner amusement! Please feel free to download, comment, share, repost, sing, dance, clap your hands, shake everything you got... whatever makes you happy :-) Thank you so much & happy easter holidays, Calaminus
This one's all about the spectrum of being in a blue mood, kind of uplifting sweet melancoly ;-) Or just the way it feels... Get out of the matter... out of the blue! Hope you'll enjoy this bluesy fusion.
Calaminus "Klabauter" - a funky Christmas present
You may know that old legend of a ship's kobold that funks the whole crew on board ;-) If you don't: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klabautermann (Wikipedia) "Klabauter" is my funky musical equivalence to this nerdy guy, made for to funk your butt :-) It's also the track for wishing you merry christmas & all the best for the new year. Keep on hoaxing, funking, grooving like the "Klabautermann"!
Lobotomy Stew "Academic Alarm" - one-man studio band Calaminus' erstwhile live funk band
"ACADEMIC ALARM" is one of the very few & rare recordings from my past funk band "Lobotomy Stew" from the years, I studied musicology in Giessen, Germany. For this tune, I was (only) co-writer: the whole band was involved to create it. Nearly all of us were students and originally we came together as a project for the local "Jazz Initiative" to perform one gig at the pub called "Ulenspiegel": this one (from which this live recording was made - with only one microphone & a minidisc-recorder!). So please excuse the awful sound, but it's still funky ;-) After that project gig we played several gigs together as a working band and had two great groovy years & much fun(k) :-) LOBOTOMY STEW was: Christian Lademann - Trumpet Andreas Jamin - Trombone Christian Rust - Lead Guitar Calaminus - Rhythm Guitar Christian Keul - Fender Rhodes Sebastian Seifert - Bass Timo Ickenroth - Drums Hope you enjoy this one!
Calaminus has added a new track to his Grooveyard set since I posted it a couple weeks ago: "Versatility" is a sweet piece of broken-beat funk.
"VERSATILITY" stands for progress. Yet it's not really progressive... Progress in mixing different influences all together - which is an obvious hobby of mine ;-) Have fun(k) :-)
Calaminus "All My Soul" - soul-jazz-gospel from Germany
Let's celebrate the Calaminus project 10 years anniversary with all our souls: my hommage to all souls of gospel music & the spirit of voices... "ALL MY SOUL" Happy celebrating, listening & groovin' :-) and if this track touches your soul, please let me know by giving me some feedback! It's deeply appreciated as always ;-)
"All My Soul" is part of a 7-track set of jazz and funk grooves called Grooveyard (appropriately enough), which I am enjoying so much I'll put the whole thing here:
