Everyone is so surprised that Therion is actually affectionate and not embarrassed to smile and Partitio is confused because Therion seemed very willing to trust him.
With Darius dead, Therion isn't as scared to place his faith in people. Because of the travelers, he got better at reading people and didn't feel unsafe with Partitio or anyone else in Oresrush and was willing to trust them immediately. Also because his life got so much better when he started trusting the travelers. As I'm typing this I'm thinking it might take him at least a year to trust Parti fully but I do think they could be like brothers after 5 years :3
I REALLY like how it takes theri a long while to genuinely trust parti, sure he’s gotten better with the whole trusting thing after meeting the travelers but he’s not just gonna become instant besties with the next stranger he meets
