Caleb Xavier is a person from another universe that is alike ours in many ways.
The most notable differences are that
A-The existence of aliens is well known, and they have made contact with them and
B-Any form of creativity isn't valued. It's about as brushed off to the side as people who work fast food (who are VERY IMPORTANT) are in our universe
Now, because of this, they're pretty technologically advanced, which comes in handy in the case that there's a war
I say this because his universe is at war
But, one side of the war got overzealous, and decided to try out this weird new machine
This machine, was incredibly unstable, and made millions of people across multiple galaxies develop powers
Caleb gained the ability of portal creation
The thing is that these portals can go anywhere
They can travel across the multiverse
Later on, after the machine gets too unstable, it explodes, unleashing a powerful enough blast to destroy the universe
Caleb's moms told zem to use his abilities to escape so that he would survive
He very obviously didn't want to, but they urged him to, and, against his own wants, did it
After that, he tried to go back, but discovered that he couldn't
His universe, his home, his family, were gone.
Ze tried to navigate this new world that ze found zirself, and eventually met a lady that would took him in. While with her, ze found out about the M.V.P.O., and decided that he wanted revenge since he believe that they should have been their to stop his universe's destruction.
