Watching sea lion pups find their way back to the ocean after being rescued by the #californiawildlifecenter.

Friends discovered an injured seal pup poking its head out from under David Geffen's porch at Billionaires' Beach early this afternoon. We spent over 3 hours repeatedly calling and waiting for the CA Wildlife Center to come rescue the pup. They never showed up. I finally got a call back from Jeff, who heads up their rescue efforts. He told me that "unfortunately" his team was now done for the day, and he would send someone over at about 10:30 tomorrow morning. Incredulous, I reminded him that the seal pup was injured and I didn't think it would make it through the night without help. He replied, "Then it won't make it through the night. There's nothing I can do about it. This is our slow season and we limit our hours to save money." As a financial contributor and member of the CA Wildlife Center, I feel so disappointed by the dispassionate refusal to respond to our calls for help on behalf of the pup. Although it "unfortunately" got injured during the Center's slow season, the little seal pup needed a faster response TODAY. #wildlife #CaliforniaWildlifeCenter #AnInconvenientRescue
