AU; keep the castle guarded
The sun had just barely risen over the horizon when Kuroo Tetsurou dress himself, secured his sword to his hip (as well as a few concealed weapons, of course), and made his way through the palace's wide and lavish hallways to prince Oikawa's bedroom.
Even before the servants could give the prince his breakfast, it was Kuroo's duty to wake him; being the first and foremost person to be with him at the start of the day was imperative as his role of his personal guard.
Kuroo knocked only twice against the prince's door before saying, "I'm coming in." (Because at that point, certain formalities with the man he'd known ever since he was a child, prince or not, felt unnecessary).
The first thing to be noticed was that, in the dimmed room, with all of its finely crafted wooden furniture, masterful pieces of art hung around the walls, and ornaments of silver and gold accenting it all, there was a sloppy mountain of blankets on the bed that was pushed against one of the walls. Oikawa still hadn't gotten out of bed, of course.
"Your Highness." (Silence--) Siiigh. "You can't stay in bed all day." Kuroo says as he throws open the finely woven curtains that concealed the large glass windows, the bright sunlight immediately flooding into the room.
