During the golden age of the Abbasid Caliphate, a powerful and fearless ruler emerged—Al-Mu'tasim Billah, the eighth Abbasid caliph. His reign was marked by military strength, strategic expansion, and justice. One of the most famous moments in his life was the Siege of Amorium, when a Muslim woman captured by the Byzantines cried out, "Wa Mu’tasimah!". Upon hearing this plea, Al-Mu'tasim vowed to defend her honor. He assembled a massive army and marched towards Amorium, securing a historic victory that restored the dignity of the Muslims.
