I will literally fist fight all the people who say Genesis is a bad Zoids series.
I will
take my cane and use it as a weapon if I have to
because holy shit Genesis is still a great series
Pretty sure @kyuofcosmic and I got transported to Hengsha for our movie today. @deusex!
“How’re your glasses staying up, nerd?”
“Sky people magic.”
So @kyuofcosmic and I are watching the gorgeous Zoids Genesis blurays and we’re up to Kotona’s appearance.
I am here for this.
I am here for my favourite zoid and pilot.
Things I’ve been extremely grateful for the past three weeks:
Having a job
Like seriously what is this I have a job??
My disability not being considered a hinderance in the slightest, and my bosses being super keen to see I’m comfortable in my work environment as they like having me on board
Being actually asked if my cane could be touched (so it wouldn’t be knocked over since I had it leaning against a then-unused seat in the staff kitchen) instead of it just being grabbed and moved
My ability to do things is never questioned: no one tries to grab things from me if I’m carrying stuff unless I explicitly ask for help (+ they ask too, but again never just infringe on my space or demean my abilities)
Clients complimenting my cane since I have a tall desk at the front and if I get up to greet them and use the desk as my balance I have it tucked under my arm ready to go for walking/moving again
Being treated like a person
That last one is really simple? But it means so much to me.
I’m not a hinderance, I’m not a liability, I’m a staff member and I can make it on my own and with the team and not be held back.
When just walking in public as a relatively young person with a disability is enough to get gawkers, and people’ll fight me over my parking permit because I’m “too young” to be disabled, it seriously means the world.
Me: why do I have this person blocked?? Who is this??? > Visits URL, sees who it is, realises they’ve changed URLs >> Quietly closes tab and flutters away to non-existence
Quietly holds vigil for Alexander Kozachenko from the Biohazard CGI films: our first (physically) disabled character in the main universe due to what happens to him who is forgotten and just called by a shitty nickname by fandom and through film alike even though that wasn’t his actual nickname.
It’s Sasha, by the way.
