One cool thing of the Cherubs concept is that they are never meant to know their parents or children, only their mate, and only for reproduction before the loser is exiled forever.
So Calliope does have a family, she's just destined to never see their faces.

There are almost 12 million valid names for cherubs, ones that start with the letters C-A-L and have 8 total letters, given the 26-letter English alphabet. (That’s not factoring in pronounceability; Calxdkht is a valid cherub name.) It stands to reason that at least some of them already have been used as words or names. What follows is by no means a comprehensive list. It’s an attempt to find and define all valid cherub names that are used as English words, along with a sampling of real names that also fit the criteria. I hope you’ll find this tool interesting, if not useful.

Calamity - A disaster. Misery. Re. Calamity Jane: a famous frontier markswoman.
Caliborn - Derived from Caliburn, an alternate name for Excalibur. (Confirmed by Hussie, according to the wiki.)
Calliope - One of the nine Muses of Greek myth; the Muse of epic poetry. A type of loud, harsh-sounding steam organ.
Calmasis - I have no freakin idea bro, I assume this was made up

Calabash - Refers to gourds or a plant with a gourd-like shape. Also refers to the hollowed-out shell of such a gourd.
Calabaza - Spanish term for calabash.
Calabria - A region in southern Italy.
Caladium - A plant genus of the arum family. Colorful leaves. I’m just writing what the dictionary says, I’m no botanist and I don’t know what an arum is
Caladryl - A brand-name drug containing calamine.
Calainis - Older Quenyan name for the month of May (later known as Lótessë).
Calakmul - A ruined Mayan city in southeastern Mexico.
Calamari - A type of squid, often eaten. Also relates to pen ink produced by said squid.
Calamary - See calamari.
Calamata - Alternate spelling of kalamata, a type of olive.
Calambar - Quenyan adjective possibly meaning “light-fated”.
Calamian - A group of islands in the Philippines. Also the indigenous species of said islands.
Calamine - A pink, zinc oxide-based powder used in lotions to treat inflammatory skin conditions. Also refers to a lotion produced with such a powder. Also another name for the minerals hemimorphite and smithsonite. Also refers to calamine brass, a zinc and copper alloy that resembles gold.
Calamint - Aromatic plants in the Calamintha genus of the mint family.
Calamite - A fossil plant from the Carboniferous period. Major component of coal used as fuel.
Calanthe - A genus of orchids. Used as a female English given name.
Calardan - Sindarin word meaning “lampwright”.
Calarust - Quenyan prefix meaning “polished copper”.
Calathea - A genus of tropical American plants.
Calathus - Alternate name for kalathos; a type of Greek woven basket shaped like a top hat.
Calavenë: Quenyan word for the Sun; lit. “light-vessel”, “light-dish”.
Calbayog - A city in the Philippines.
Calbhach - A male Irish given name; means “bald”.
Calcaneo - A prefix referring to the calcaneus, the heel bone.
Calcifer - The name of the fire demon from the book Howl’s Moving Castle.
Calcific - An adjective referring to making or converting into chalk or lime (chemical compound).
Calciner - Something or someone that converts material into calx (whatever that is).
Calcrete - Alternate name for caliche, a geological deposit consisting of sand or clay impregnated with crystalline salts.
Calcspar - Alternate name for calcite, calcium carbonate.
Calctufa - Tufa, a variety of limestone (a rock made of calcium compounds).

Calculus - Mathematical calculations using differentiation or integration. Also a kidney stone or similar deposit in an organ. Also another form of tartar, the hard stuff that the plaque residue on your teeth turns into after too long.
Calcutta - Alternate name of Kolkata, a major city in India.
Calderón - de la Barca; surname of a Spanish author.
Caldwell - A surname.
Calebite - A member of the tribe of Caleb, an important figure in Jewish history.
Calembel - In Tolkien’s Legendarium, the chief town of the province of Lamedon in Gondor.
Calendar - A chart of the days, weeks, and months of a year. Also a system of timekeeping. Also a chronological list, e.g. a calendar of events.
Calender - (no this is not a misprint) A machine in which material is smoothed by rolling between rotating cylinders. Also a machine for impregnating fabric with rubber.
Calenhad - Sindarin name meaning “green-hump”. The name of one of the seven beacon-hills between Gondor and Rohan.
Calexico - A town in Southern California.
Calfskin - The skin or hide of a calf, typ. juvenile cattle.
Calfuray - Female Native American given name. Means “violet (flower)” in Mapuche.
Caliceal - Of or relating to a calix, a cup or cup-shaped thing.
Calicoed - Dressed in calico, a plain cotton cloth with a pattern on one side.
Caliduct - A pipe or duct for conveying a heating medium, e.g. hot air or steam.

Califate - Alternate spelling of caliphate, the rank or jurisdiction of a caliph. A caliph is an Islamic spiritual leader.

Caligula - Male Roman given name. Means “little boot” in Latin. Re. the eponymous sadistic Roman emperor.
Calimere - The name of a cape on the southeastern coast of India.
Caliondo - Alternate spelling of Calion. In Tolkien’s Legendarium, Tar-Calion was the Quenyan name of Ar-Pharazon “the Golden”, the last and most prideful king of Numenor.
Calipash - The part of a turtle next to the upper shield. Considered a delicacy.
Calisaya - The medicinal bark of the tree Cinchona calisaya.
Calixtus - Male Roman given name. Variant of Callistus, meaning “most beautiful” . Three popes have had this name.
Callable - Capable of being called. Subject to payment or redemption on demand, e.g. a loan.
Callahan - Male English given name. Anglicized form of the Irish Ceallachán, meaning “bright-headed” or possibly “war”, “strife”, or “church”.
Callaloo - A Caribbean dish; a thick soup of crabmeat, greens, and various seasonings.
Callaway - A place name. Also a surname. Also the name of a popular golf equipment producer.
