Calming the Storm //Cissa &Severus
He flicked the cigarette butt into the bushes, not caring in the least if a peacock decided to eat it and die and in fact rather hoping one would. Severus brushed the flecks of ash off his robes to look a little more respectable and headed up the steps.
He knocked on the door and waited. Normally one of the house elves would be there in an instant to let him in. They were taking their sweet time today. He cleared his throat and knocked again.
It was so strange that he walked around the side of the house towards the rose garden where Lucius was probably sunning himself and drinking some chateau de somewhere Severus couldn’t pronounce. He came into sight o the front room. The doors into the garden were open and now severus knew why the elf hadnt been there ti let him in. Someone or something had destroyed the roses. He drew his wand and stepped cautiously forward.
He heard something eerie and musical further in between the bushes and raised the wand, ready for anything.
Ready for almost anything. Not ready to see Narcissa practically floating on her toes, walking gracefully between the plants, peeling the petals off a bloom.
“Narcissa?” He called, lowering his wand, eyes flicking to her clothes, and the blood on her fingers. “Narcissa, are you alright?”
