Cheesy Lasagna Calzones are a delicious take on traditional lasagna. They have delicious lasagna flavors inside a crispy pizza dough pocket.
Ingredients: 1 can refrigerated pizza dough. 1 cup marinara sauce. 1 cup ricotta cheese. 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes. 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil optional.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 400F 200C. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into four equal squares. In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Place a spoonful of marinara sauce in the center of each dough square, leaving space around the edges. Top the marinara sauce with a generous portion of the cheese mixture. Fold the dough over the filling to create a pocket, and press the edges firmly to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the calzones. Transfer the calzones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the calzones are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh basil, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
