-This morning Derek has been asking a continuous stream of questions regarding non-human entities.

Yes, werewolves transform during full moons. No, they do not eat humans. Usually.

Vampires are immortal. The sun gave their skin the appearance of diamonds. They're very bling.

Derek had side-eyed her hard for that one. By then they had reached the coffee shop and ceased all such conversation. He was now aware about werewolf hearing capabilities and the last thing they wanted to do was alert their targets that they knew what they were.-

There.

-The Hale-Argent's had arrived. Peter pulled their daughter from her child restraint in the back while Argent waited for them with his hands in his pockets. However when Peter reached his side, Argent immediately placed one hand at the small of his back as they walked inside. Peter didn't even seem to notice, having some sort of conversation with the girl. Or maybe it wasn't so much noticing as it was simply expected. The Hale-Argent's always seemed to be touching.

Cameron and Derek followed. It was Catori who noticed them first, smiling up at them from her station between Argent and Peter's legs. Cameron smiled back which caused Catori to hide behind Argent's leg. Perhaps she'd done it wrong.

It captured Argent's attention though and with the turn of his head, everything about Cameron changed. Posture, hips tilted slightly out of alignment. Shoulders slouched. Fingers twisting hair fiber ends in an irregular pattern. Gaze unfocused until target recognition and then smile.-

Mr. Hale-Argent! Derek, look who it is!

-Argent shakes Derek's extended hand, offering a Chris is fine in Cameron's direction. Traditional 'small talk' ensues. How big Catori has gotten since they last saw her. What their drink preferences are. Peter prefers sweet drinks while Argent tends toward stout. Derek makes a comment about how his mom used to drink coffee so strong the spoon stood straight up in the mug. Cameron would point out the likelihood of that but everyone is smiling so she does the same.

Peter gives them an opening for their mission by telling them they're taking Catori to the park after this.-

I'm dragging Derek to the mall. He bought us tickets to see the ballet this weekend and I have nothing new to wear.

-As Derek suspected, Peter's interest is peaked.

What ballet?-

A Midsummer's Night Dream. You should come. I know for a fact all the tickets haven't sold out yet.

-The look on Argent's face when Peter looks at him is similar to the one Derek wore at the prospect of going. But it takes hardly a few words from Peter to convince him. She's going to have to replay this later and study how Peter was so efficient. Derek takes so much convincing sometimes.

They arrange dinner together as well, making the mission a complete success. Once the Hale-Argent's are gone, Cameron corrects her posture and relaxes her face.

Oddly, it's not until she does that Derek relaxes himself.-

I never understood commercials that use the phrase "real people" like what, you have the option to hire fake people? ARE YOU HIRING ROBOTS IS THIS GONNA BE A SKYNET SITUATION OR WHAT I'M CAUGHT IN BETWEEN INTRUIGED AND TERRIFIED EXCUSE ME WHILE I COWER IN THE CORNER THANKS
