Oh man, I just realised that Joe asked Debby to bring Cameron to her flat and clean up her mess so that Cameron would be away from her computer space long enough for him to remove the disks and replace them with his wiped ones. That would also explain why he stared into and scanned the room earlier.
And here I was wondering since when Joe gave a shit about whether Cameron wears a bra or not...
I took a look at AMC's schedule for Halt and Catch Fire and these are the summaries of the next episodes:
Episode 4: "Cameron nearly completes the BIOS; when a crisis threatens the project's future, the entire time is needed to save it."
We find out in the preview teaser that Cameron loses all her data after a power surge because she forgot to back up her computer. We also see that Gordon and his team as well as Donna are at Cardiff to fix the problem. There's also a scene with Cameron and Joe on the rooftop after the incident. Now, I think that Joe makes some inappropiate remark or accuses her of ruining the project, Cameron flips out and punches him in the face (his nose is bleeding and her fingers have blood on them). EDIT: Okay, it's not Cameron who hits him but Gordon.
Later we see him, a little disheveled, with what looks like a white towel in his hand on top of the roof with Cameron. So... I don't know, it will probably be different in the end, but that's when they will probably have some sort of conversation. I don't know whether it will be mature or immature, but if Joe really turns out to be a sociopath, then no matter how understanding he will appear during the conversation, he will have the success of the project in mind. If he's clever, then he will know that Cameron is very fragile and vulnerable in that moment and that he has to be a little bit more soft spoken to get what he wants. So, I'm interested in seeing how this will play out.
Also, Cameron is extremely devastated which made me wonder whether she lost more than just the BIOS.
Joe also reacts negatively when he sees Donna in Gordon's office. I was confused by that at first, but then I remembered their first encounter. Joe probably thinks that Donna will stand in the way of the project since she was very reluctant to accept Gordon's involvement. I hope that after that moment of tension we see in the teaser, Joe realises that Donna is important, too. I have my own theory and think that Donna is extremely smart and that she also wrote a large portion of Gordon's article in byte (Gordon didn't remember that one quote). That would be extremely interesting because the byte article was the reason why Joe chose Gordon.
We also see Joe introducing the first prototype of the PC.
Episode 5: "Cameron chafes under new management; Joe and Gordon try to obtain technology that is crucial for the computer."
Looks like Cameron will be under a different management. Possibly because of what happened in the fourth episode and the loss of the data? I guess it will only be a temporary thing, though.
Episode 6: "After having a breakthrough, Cameron is at odds with Gordon; Joe must make a difficult decision; personal revelations are induced."
Now, I found this interesting because of the personal revelations. I wonder what kind of decision Joe has to make in this episode? Also, it looks like Cameron will be somewhat successful. I'm looking forward to seeing her dynamic with Gordon in this, since I liked that in the second episode already.
Episode 7: "When a person from Joe's past visits, his connection with Cameron is threatened; the cost Gordon's work catches up to him."
This is probably the most interesting for me. Not only because I want to know what person visits Joe, but because that person "threatens" his connection with Cameron... Which sounds like Joe and Cameron will develop a closer/deeper connection throughout the season. I wonder whether this is simply sexually or also emotionally. And obviously, what could possibly threaten that? At first I had this ridiculous thought "What if the connection is a sexual one and Joe's former lover visits him and tells him that he's HIV positive, which would also threaten Cameron." Simply because it's the early 80s and Joe isn't careful at all when it comes to sex. But yeah, I seriously doubt this is going to happen.
And then there's also Gordon: What if the cost of his work has to do with Donna? Maybe this is the episode where we find out that Donna played a big role in his achievements and his work.
