Energy Maximum 325 Sec from the series Anemograph de l’Ortenbourg

‘Energy Maximum 325 sec comprises a sculptural drawing made with an anemograph, an instrument recording the speed, duration, direction and movement of the wind. This was recorded at Chateau de l’Ortenbourg in France. I made a series of photographs sunset to midnight, a full moon behind the castle that was built in the 1200s and largely destroyed in the French Revolution of 1789-99.’

“...Cameron’s work is based on interaction with natural forces and the elements. He has devised many ways of producing a kind of collaboration between artist and nature using sound, fog, water, photography, drawing and sculpture to interpret natural phenomena.

Cameron’s Wind Drawing Instruments are mechanical devices, set up in different locations to collect wind and weather energy and translate it into a strangely readable format of ink drawings on paper, which themselves take on the form of the storm (pictured).

In June 2016 Robbins will mount his first major museum solo exhibition, including seven new commissions, for Field Lines at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) Tasmania...”
