When: June 19 Where: Coffee Shop Who: @camelliafairchild
Just a few years ago this time of year was relaxing. She’d managed to make it another year without having to be in Fidchell. The brief time she had to just relax before the build up to the next Fidchell started. But she’d wanted to play in this one and the last. It was no longer relaxing but disappointing to find herself not good enough again. More so this year because it left Kaitlin with too much time to think about things she had always tried so hard not to think about. Everything with Davey. But also now the way Jasmine had always been treated. She tried to just think about her friends and not herself, not the way she’d been treated. Or how things would go for her if she ever got her chance to make her wish. Try as hard as she might the fact that she was trapped, and likely always would be, was becoming too obvious to ignore.
She thought about it on her run. In the shower after. Not even a leisurely walk through the park had pushed it from her mind. Kaitlin made her way into a crowded coffee shop, hoping maybe being in a crowd of humans might take her mind off things. She could people watch and maybe forget that she didn’t know how to be one of them. That she didn’t belong. Once she got her tea she looked around and realized maybe it was a little too crowded. “Excuse me, do you mind sharing your table?” Kaitlin hadn’t realized who she was asking till after the question left her, she’d been too focused on an empty chair. “I’m sorry, your highness, I didn’t realize, I can find somewhere else.” Without even explaining who she was or how she knew who the blonde was she started to turn away.
