do you know what breaks my heart in this scene? in addition to consolation and advice, klaus seeks in the hallucination of cami an affection, even if unreal, that holds him back. to hold the ends of his sanity. as he lays down, eyes half open, calming his heart, he imagines cami is stroking his hair... that's what comforts him. it is what, in that torment, brings him peace.
