21. Veronica Vaughn. [Kaylee Bryant] Veronica has never really seen herself as “desirable”, neither did anybody else. That was okay, she accepted that about herself. She was going to travel and learn and she wasn’t going to have a person holding her back at every move. She focused on her studies, got into a great university. Didn’t drink, didn’t party, didn’t have any friends. But she was content. And then she graduated. And it was over. Her entire adolescence was over and she had never even kissed another person, let alone had sex with anyone. In her existential crisis, Veronica declined her offer to study at Harvard Law and headed straight for her childhood summer camp. She still has time. Maybe.

21. Jake Randall [Rudy Pankow] Jake doesn’t remember when he became popular. He just always was. In school, with friends, with girls. Some would say it went to his head. But he was a nice guy, so what was the harm in it? He enjoys popularity. He hasn’t had to try at anything his entire life, but popularity only takes you so far. Now that he’s finished college, Jake needs to re-evaluate what he wants in life. But right now, reliving his glory days at Camp Devils Hills is more appealing.

22. Lionel Nicholson. [Archie Renaux] Lionel spent much of his adolescence in and out of juvenile detention. He’s trying to do better though. But it feels like every time he takes a step in the right direction something happens to make him take three steps back. It’s hard to do better when nobody was there to raise you right in the first place. Lionel’s parents were absent before they kicked him out on the eve of his 18th birthday. He’s always had to fend for himself. At least he’s always had Marla there. He’d be lost without her.

20. Heather Greene. [Josephine Langford] When asked to describe their Junior Prom Queen, Heather Greene, in one word her classmates chose words like: Hot. Popular. Perfect. All words you’d expect to be associated with the head cheerleader. But one student chose the word empty. Empty. They weren’t wrong but it was the first time somebody had seen through her facade. They didn’t need to know about her unhappy family life, a mother who slept with a new man every week, a father who didn’t care enough to stop it, the pressure to be perfect, and her minor coke addiction to know she was broken. That was the summer she decided to kiss Mark. She didn’t even know he existed before the first day of camp. She started to pay attention to him. He was her complete opposite but she had never known somebody to feel so similar. She lets him see the parts she keeps hidden from everybody else.

21. Mark Trachtenberg. [Charlie Plummer] Mark is proof that growing up with money doesn’t make you popular. Always a little awkward, always a loser. Mark never fit in with the kids he went to school with. His parents thought it would help to send him to summer camp, somewhere nobody really knew him. Spoiler: It didn’t work. Location doesn’t change your personality much. However, he did meet Heather Greene. The prettiest, most popular girl Mark had ever met. They didn’t cross paths often but when they were both sixteen she chose to kiss him behind the boys’ cabin. The next year they slept together for the first time. Their ‘no strings attached’ relationship hasn’t really ended since. Nobody knows, and that doesn’t bother him. He still goes back to camp every year for her.

22. Amber Hill. [Olivia Scott Welch] Amber never stood a chance. The Hills have always had an... unwanted legacy around town. There’s a theory that Kill Devil Hills gets it’s name from, well, the Hill family. Not the very few mountains that surround the area. Rumours that Amber’s family are Devil-Worshippers have followed her around since as long as she can remember. It never helped anybody in her family to be supposedly descended from the Hills witches. Her mother could never hold down a job for more than a month and eventually skipped town, leaving behind Amber to raise her little sister. The only time she really gets to feel like herself and not a parent is during the summer break. Her little sister gets to spend the holidays at Space camp and Amber gets to be a counsellor at KDH. There’s a little parenting involved but the two week before the kids show up is like a paid vacation. Even if she does get called a witch.

21. Laney Macintosh. [Emma Mackey] Laney’s parents died when she was still a baby, she was taken in by her Uncle and grew up alongside her cousins in their McMansion in North Carolina. She was a pretty happy-go-lucky kid and loved when the summer break came around and she got to go to Camp Devil Hills. When she was 12 her oldest cousin, Pete, moved to Georgia for college. Something about losing her Jock-y All-American cousin, who is more like a brother to her, flicked a switch in her head. She started acting out in school, really got in grunge, and over night she was the loner kid nobody wanted to hang around with. She found her people eventually, but after a close call involving alcohol and a car (she luckily wasn’t driving) her aunt and uncle decided to send her back to Camp Devil Hills. They want their happy-go-lucky girl back.

  Personality: Jumpy, obnoxious, skittish, loud, rambunctious, quite oblivious, a bit of an ass, silly, quirky, flat out annoying, but nice in general.

Likes: A lot of fruit, arts and crafts, running around, night walks around the camp, hiking, swimming, archery, gymnastics and cartwheels, bluhbluhbluh etc.

Dislikes: Not really anything except for meaner neaners, bananas (he’s terrified of them for no reason), and sock monkeys.
