to be truly honest i’ve been dancing for people, for you all for quite a while now, so that you can actually see it, learn these dancers, and understand what their really about, i dance on purpose. no i do not prepare music or a routine to showcase specifics i simply say; you know what, i want to share something today. and from that i move out of the way of my self and allow my being to be accordingly and just let it happen freely. i understand culturally there is a lot of barriers not just in languages, also very much in movements, in understanding and in expressing. this is very real no matter how much you want to say all people are the same and avoid this, we are different and it’s beautiful. ... . . . . especially for this dance locking, Don Campbell say “take my dance and make it yours” and if your actually doing it he would say “your doing it like me” not dancing like him, not copying him, but your doing your thing freely like him. he did not like to say his dance has foundation and this is where everyone would shun him as being a bad teacher or a none teacher but in fact he is the best teacher, most people just was not ready for the knowledge he was giving in his way of teaching. they say “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear” right! as students of locking we must understand this. ... . . . . we all are literally dancing like Don Campbell doing the things he did freely when he felt the music, people that was around that saw what he did gave names to the things he did, he was just doing being his amazing self, he was just dancing. would you call Don Campbell a locker or a dancer? we are called lockers because we dance like Campbellock do you understand that. so here i am trying to express his dance as purely as i can everything is being utilized from head to toes to the fingertips of your hand everything is in motion, dance up high, dance low, and always a quick stop because locking that’s the dance to stop. #4evercampbellock #hurrikanethedancer #campbellock #lock #dance #locking #respect #love (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_2K-lvDOKw/?igshid=1ngw7qsnfr4yy
