March 17, 2017 Campfire Grill 3003 Walden Avenue Depew, NY 14043 Most people would be having corn beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day. Not the fish fry gal! Beer battered, skinless cod truly had a beer flavor. The fish was cooked perfectly. (9) The fries are skin on, hand cut that were limp and lacked taste.(5) Along with the tartar sauce, all of the sides are home made. Cole slaw was a disappointment with finely shredded cabbage that lacked flavor.(5). Some creative side options! Fresh fruit! What!? Baked beans (7) and German potato salad (7). Just my 2 cents but they should Cook the German the day before for better flavor. Now let's talk about what blew my mind! Mac salad was mini shells with celery, onion and egg. (10) Potato salad was mustard, onion, celery, egg heaven! (10) Nice family place. Restaurant not a bar. Good for large parties. Plenty of parking. This family run gem shows pride in ownership. They make you feel very welcome. Overall rating 8. Would go back just for the mac and potato salad! Yup they were THAT good! Well the luck of the Irish was with us! We will be back to try their much talked about breakfast.
