I dreamt this place, some vision of Looney Tunes landscapes in real life, burned into my eyelids real young. I grew up, sort of, saw it elsewhere. Everywhere. I read about this place. Fell in love with a book, a book and then it's author, and then it's ideology. Then, on a whim, I met a girl, became friends. I recommended the book, she read it too. We were bonded. Later, we took a trip and when an overnight backpacking trip in Aspen got snowed out in July, she rerouted us here on a whim, making a dream come true. Video Landscape #2 • July 2015 • I've got a lot of videos from the past year, mostly these rolling landscapes. One of my favorite moments was when my girl and I were lost near the Strawberry Reservoir trying to find the entrance to a path that leads to an oasis. I was tired, dazed in the passenger seat after cooking in the deserts of Moab and packing up our site early, trying to psych myself for the day of backpacking ahead of us. The drive was full of immense beauty and foreign desert landscapes. We messed up the truck good up here, yelled a lot at snakes, and had some weird interactions with the Mountain people. @naomihosborn was a road warrior and eventually found the right spot, but I was actually glad we got lost. The truck might have been scratched to hell, we had to go off-roading for a bit, but this view made the world feel perfect for a minute. #⛰ • #campingbrimming #hotsprung #bangtour #videolandscape (at Uinta National Forest)
