Canada VS. USA Debate
Before we began the debate, I strongly held to the opinion that Canada was far better at solving the problem of scarcity, and by the end of the debate I still held my same opinion. I believe that Canada, as a nation, is far better at creating a good quality of life for its citizens with its solution for scarcity. When we were doing this debate, we actually forgot about the time limit and the song ended up recording to a little over twenty minutes. I managed to cut out most of it and only bring out the key parts, so the file is now 7 minutes long. In the debate, the points that were talked about the most were healthcare, unemployment, GDP, and natural resources. In my personal opinion, I think that the majority of those who debated for the USA didn’t really believe in what they were saying. I say this because we, though not fully, have grown up in Canada. We share a collective identity with other Canadians. Our values and beliefs differ massively from the US. In the end, we ended up agreeing that each country has positives and negatives, if they didn’t they wouldn’t be considered so high up in the world, and that though one side won the debate there are countless ways to defend each side. I know that this post is quite short, but I feel that most of it is explained quite well in the recording itself.
