"Hey, Mister. You're standing on an ant hill, you know?" There's an edge of annoyance in the young boy's voice, a deadpan expression on his face. (Liam - Kunikida)
Kunikida looked over at the sound of the voice. “Pardon? An anthill?”
His head then tilted downward to stare at his feet and the ground upon which he stood. Indeed, upon a few seconds of observation, the moving shapes of the tiny ants became apparent.
“Hm. Sharp observation.” If for no other reason than that nobody liked the possibility of ants climbing up their shoes and into their pant legs, Kunikida took a step back and off the colony.
His notebook was still open in his hands; he quickly added a note about the location of the anthill to the current page to ensure this would not happen again. Snapping it shut, he looked over at the child who had alerted to him to the ants. A youngster.
Well, it seemed they’d earned a thank you. “Thanks, kid.”
