While conducting my research I came across this TLC documentary about anabolic steroid use in the bodybuilding industry and how pervasive their use is. I knew that there was an increase in steroid usage but I did not think it was as high as 56% in men nor was I aware that steroid usage increased a person's risk of heart attack by 58%. It is shocking that anyone would subject their body to anything that can change their hormonal composition, let alone make them blind or their arteries explode. But it just raises the question, what are people willing to do to reach the level of acceptance imposed upon them by a society so warped my false images?
