Criminal minds x The Pitt Crossover!! The Abbot version! <3
FormerBAU!Reader x Jack Abbot one shot!
Sum: turns out there’s some perks in being a former agent, like getting McKay out of trouble.
Cw: set when McKay almost gets arrested, reader is former BAU, age gap relationship, brief mention of being Spencer smart. InternReader, implied that pittfest wasnt the first day for some of our lovable residents
Small continuation! Link
Most people didn't know about your memory, degrees, or time at the BAU. It was hard to believe considering your age but like Spencer, you had an early start and somehow ended up a part of that ragtag team.
But after so many years of seeing the most heinous crimes, of sometimes being too late, and nightmares of those you put behind jail, you'd had enough.
It hurt so badly to leave your team behind. Leaving Spencer was the hardest, your brother in all but blood who understood you the best.
Yet, you and the team knew it was best for you as you slowly lost yourself in the work. You were their sun hidden behind the clouds, and they needed to protect their sun.
Of course, this didn't stop you from finding another lifesaving job, much to the team's amusement. Moving to Pittsburgh and using your doctorate to start as an intern might as well be another version of the BAU. Which Emily and JJ pointed out during your last FaceTime. You couldn't help but grin, though. You loved the Pitt.
From the staff to the quickly regulars like Myrna. It kept you on your toes and gave you the opportunity to continue saving lives. More importantly, it kept you busy from the demons that haunted you, like Floyd. It brought you joy and happiness you'd haven't felt in years, and brought you a certain salt and pepper hair attending that made your heart pound every time he was near.
——
The Pitt had a running bet, whispers of what you did before coming here. A ray of sunshine usually, but an impenetrable wall when it came to your past.
Whitaker swears you had to be some kind of runaway princess, making everyone snort. Abbot, privately between him and Robby, knows you had to be in the force in some way. The way you moved, talked, and thought reminded him of himself—trained and methodical. Unconsciously or consciously, he always found ways to spend time with you.
He knows you. Knows how your shoulder slumps in relief when he's near, how you like your coffee sweet, how your fingers brush against his in the rare moments in between cases. The secret comfort he gives you after a long shift. Your past is just another part of you, like his. He knows one day, you'll both be ready to make this more.
(That leads to our other Pitt bet— when will you two get together)
Of course, it was during the Pitt fest that a part of your past came back to haunt you.
After all the dust had settled, you had managed to keep all your triggers checked, saving as many lives as possible under the guidance of your attendings'. You had checked with the team briefly to see if they were on the case, which, unfortunately, fortunately, they weren't.
But of course, like Shin saying the Q-word, when one thing calms down, another ignites.
——
"Put your hands above your head where we can see them now." The two cops move to arrest McKay, as Abbot and you rush in.
"Do you two seriously have nothing better to do? Do you not see what happened? She was saving lives," Abbot glares at the two cops.
"She tampered with her device," one of them sasses back, fulling your anger.
"She was saving lives. She had too." You replied back with a bite.
Abbot subtly moves in front of you, protecting you from them. He wasn't about to let them cuff you as well, as he hollers for Robby.
Robby joins the conversation as they hash it out with the cops. You nudge McKay, asking if she's okay - getting a small nervous smile back.
"Everything okay here?" It's the police chief, the one who came to make sure the cop down was okay. You immediately recognize him, having helped him catch a serial killer 2 years ago.
"Chief Casper!, it's good to see you, sir. Unfortunately, under these circumstances," you reply, interrupting what Robby was about to say.
"Agent L/N! What a surprise! You workin' this case?" He shakes your hand, and you shake your head.
"Retired last year, sir. I'm a first-year here now, but it seems your beat cops over had better things to do than help, like arresting Dr. McKay here. She tampered with her ankle monitor, yes, but she was key in saving your guy's life." You look him in the eye, tilting your head as you insult his staff.
Chief Casper sighs, looking between the cops and attendants. "Let her go, don't embarrass me anymore," he says, shaming the two cops as they release McKay.
"Agent l/n, I'm sure you'll see she takes care of this issue tomorrow, first thing?"
"Of course, sir. Would you like to see your teammate? He should be ready for guests," getting a nod back from the chief. Princess volunteers to take them, as what just happened hits everyone.
"Dude, what the fuck? Thank you." McKay rushes to hug you as you laugh.
"I'd say any time, but I'd rather not owe the guy favors."
"Agent??" Robby questions as Abbot stares you down, stern look on his face, arms crossed. You can't help but admire the bulge of his muscles.
" Oh I uhh have charts to chart now, talk later, bye-bye!!" You quickly escape, but word spread like wildfire. You sigh, knowing this was going to be a hot topic until Whitaker gets peed on again.
——
As you gather your stuff, after finally getting the okay to leave, you head to the roof. Leaning against the rail, you close your eyes for just a moment. You almost zone out, trying to forget the day, until you hear,
"You're in my spot."
Turning around, you see Abbot. "Mhm, mine now," you respond, smiling tiredly at him, dead on your feet. He can't help but think of you as a tired bunny, sleepy and cute.
"So… agent? Secret agent? Tax agent?? What are we talking about here?" Abbot asks as he stands next to you, your fingers brushing ever so slightly.
"You're like the 100th person to ask, you know." You laugh out as he gently nudges you with his body.
He turns to you, searching for eye contact, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "But I'm not any person, am I, Dr L/N," he says, stepping closer and saying what you both have been thinking for months out loud.
You let out a relaxed sigh as you lean into his chest, his arms securing you around your waist.
"I got you" Exhaustion finally hits your body as you incoherently mumble into his chest. You feel his chest rumble with a high as he whispers, "Can't hear you, baby."
Finally, you look up, with your chin still resting on him.
"Used to be BAU, a division of the FBI, mr former military medic combat man."
Jack pauses, taking in what you just revealed.
"Huh, alright"
You pause. "Alright? Just alright???"
Jack was a certified yapper on the down low, a privilege you and Robby knew well.
"Jus' alright. We all have a past. Sides, everyone's gonna grill you tomorrow for me anyways." Jack's eyes twinkle again as he smiles before you both laugh. He pauses, debating as he puts his weight subtly onto his other leg. "Come home with me. Eat. Sleep. We need it."
You know what an offer like that really means for a man like Abbot.
"Let's go home," you breathe out, a small smile gracing your lips. Seems like today would be the day, you'd finally be more.
Sum: Working with your now bf Jack Abbot is a dream, until your former teammate Spencer ends up in your ER.
CW: spencer gets shot twice but hes okay! F!Reader, age-gap relationship and power dynamics tech bc you work with and are dating Dr.Abbot. Morgan and the team calls you sweetpea. Huge medical innaccuries! Smutty activities and flashing mentioned but not explicit. MDNI not well proofread. I need to stop writing GSW fics 🤧

Waking up to Jacks arms around your waist, your head on his hard chest and legs intertwined was officially your favorite thing.
Dr. Jack Abbot was everything you dreamed of in a partner. He was caring, funny, sarcastic, and brilliant as hell. You loved your old man and his ways.
You especially loved how open and honest both of you could be about your past in the BAU and his as an army medic now. It took you time but he understands you in ways you didn’t think was possible.
Nuzzling your head closer, a smile graces your lips as he places a kiss on your head. The both of you had an unusual day shift today, before finally being able to enjoy some off time.
“Come on baby we gotta get up” Jacks rough morning voice reaches your ears, his hands running up and down your body.
You couldn’t help but pout at the thought, squeezing him tighter, getting a little laugh from him. To the Pitt you go.
——
Despite all the bribes and begging, you remained pretty tight lipped about your past as a BAU member. Most people assumed you were a tax agent that brought down someone big, much to your amusement. The only person who truly knew anything, was Jack.
You can’t help but peak over at him talking with Robby, eyes trailing over his body. His sexy peppered hair, magnetic eyes, strong biceps, and his tongue, oh god his tongue, which you now knew quite biblically.
You feel yourself heat up thinking about last night before shaking the thoughts away. The last you needed with to pull him in the supply closet and be almost caught by one of the med students again.
You hear Dana call out that a GSW, multiple wounds, was on route. Sitting up straight, you watch Abbot and Robby gather Langdon, Jakarta and Collins for the case. You catch Abbots eye and he shakes his head at you, since you had dealt with the last major case.
Heading back into charting, minutes later you hear a deep and familiar voice call out a very specific name for you —
“Sweetpea”
Your head shoots up to see one Derek Morgan, his handsome face and eyebrows crinkled together as you rush to him.
You hug him something fierce before looking him over, patting him down like a worried mother duck.
“What happened? What’s going on?, are you okay? Where is everyone?” You rush out, fear creeping in quickly.
“Hey hey it’s okay, it’s… it’s Spencer. GSW in the stomach and arm”
It was like cold water was dumped on you, as you realize it was the one Dana called out for earlier. You rush to her after asking Derek to wait there for you.
“What room is the GSW in?” You all but demand frantically but she stops you.
“Shushh no, it’s okay. You know them?” She nods towards Derek, who’s pacing nervously and catching the eyes of nurses in the area. You vaguely pick up “maybe an exboyfriend? Him or the other guy?,” being said in the background before focusing.
“Yes. Please Dana it’s my family,” you beg quietly but she shakes her head.
“You know the rules. Listen, take your friend to the staff lounge. Both Robby and Abbot are in there. You know it’s going to be okay. Trust them” she gently leads you to the lounge while signaling Derek to the room.
“Ah I’m sorry Dana. This is SSA Derek Morgan, Derek this is our amazing charge nurse Dana Evans. She’s basically our JJ and Emily combined” you smile introducing them.
They shake hands, and you can’t help but notice the little blush on Dana’s face giggling. She gives you a look before telling you you’re good to wait. You thank her before hugging Derek again.
“It’s going to be fine, Spencer’s in there with Abbot and Robby. They’re the best you can ask for” you reassure Derek.
“But what happened? Where’s the rest of our team?” You ask as you both sit, letting Derek hold your hand for comfort.
“Unsub we started tracking this morning got the best of us from the back. Thankfully, Hotch was able to tackle him down before any more damage. They’re dealing with him now, should be here any minute… we miss you out there Sweetpea” Derek looks at you with his beautiful puppy eyes and you can’t help but laugh.
“It’s not my fight anymore, you know that. But I’m always here for advice.” You share a smile and then notice a few pairs of eyes watching you through the staff lounge door window. Oh boy, you couldn’t help but think, already knowing you’d be bombarded with questions again.
“Should we call the team?,” you continue, needing to distract yourself and Derek. He smiles, knowing what you’re doing, before reaching for his phone.
“Baby girl, it’s me and Y/N. We’re at her hospital, Spencer’s in surgery now.”
“Oh god, oh god. Hi my love, I miss you and I wish this under better, you know. Everyone’s on the way but how is he? Please" Penelope’s frantic voice comes through the speaker, making your eyes water.
Damn you missed them. "Hey Pen. It’s okay, Abbots working on him now, I know he’ll be okay" You wipe a tear from your eye as you promise both of them you’ll go check.
"I’m gonna go check on Spencer okay? I’ll be right back,” you whispers to Derek, squeezing his hand one more time before leaving.
——
"Dana anything? please?,” you ask her as she stares at the patient board. She looks at you with worried eyes but your conversation in interrupted by a large hand on your shoulder. Turning around you can’t help want to cry. It’s them. Your team. Your first family.
Hotch gives you a firm hug first, placing a kiss on top of your head before passing you go to hug JJ, Emily, and Rossi.
“Good to see you kid" Rossi smiles as he places a kiss on your cheek. "How is he?"JJ asks, as Dana answers for you.
“They should be out any minute.” She smiles, as you all look relieved.
“SSA Aaron Hotchner, I apologize for going over the patient family limit,” he shakes Danas hand she introduces herself.
“S’alright, I’m sure we can make an exception for our fav girl here" tilting her head towards you.
—
“For the GSW, I’m assuming" You turn around to see Robby and Abbot. They both look tired, but happy enough, so you know it went well.
“Correct, SSA Agent hotcher, this is SSAs’ David Rossi, Jennifer jareau, Emily Prentis, and I believe Derek Morgan is here as well. How is spencer?" Hotcher introduces himself again, shaking both of their hands.
"I’ll go get him" Dana offers before Robby answers.
“He’s good, wounds were easy enough as far as bullets go, and we don’t think you’ll have to worry about damage. Just a lot of rest. I can take them for you Dr.L/N" Robby looks at you, his brown eyes asking if your okay.
You smile at him, reassuring him. “Yes please, if that alright. I owe you one Robby”
"Dont worry kid. Alright motley crew, room 3 follow me"
After they’ve walked away, you can’t help but hug Jack. "I’m sorry I.."
He shushes, you placing a kiss on top of you head. "I got you, it’s alright. Don’t be sorry" as you sink into him.
"Sweetpea?"
You release Jack to see Derek and Dana. "Ready to see spence?,” you ask smiling, as he gestures you to lead the way. The tension from his shoulders leaving at the news.
——
The three of you enter the already crowded room as Spencer looks up from his chat with Robby and Hotch.
“Y/n!!,” his smile is contagious as you go to hug him gently.
“Hey spence" A small tear slips from you as you hold eachother.
"I’m okay,” he whispers. "Your boyfriend fixed me quite well,” he teases you as you turn red.
“Spencer!!!" You can’t help but hit him lightly on the good shoulder, getting wet laughs from everyone as you move to stand next to Jack, who holds your hand.
“Sweetpea and beanstalk, at it again. Who had 10 seconds" Morgan asks the room.
“That would be me thank you very much" Emily smugly says as everyone passes her $20s.
“Seriously!,” both you and Spencer shout out, making Emily sigh as she passes the money to an equally smug Hotch.
“Sweetpea…and beanstalk?" Jack can’t help but teasingly ask as he watches you interact with your team.
“Our loving names for the super twins over here, curtesy of Morgan. You’d think they were twins with the way they fight" Emily answers.
“Which, I still highly contest to!" Spencer grumbles out,.
“You’re just jealous you’re not Sweetpea Spence,” JJ teases him, getting more laughs. "So is this the boyfriend we’ve heard so much about" she continues smiling at you and Jack.
You feel your face heat as you confirm and introduce both Abbot and Robby to them. You also can make out your lovely fellow doctors and nurses subtly peaking in, wondering what’s happening.
“Don’t think your cover of former tax agents gonna hold anymore" Jack mentions, making you laugh and the team snort. "It was nice while it lasted though"
“Tax agent? This the same girl who once apprehend a suspect by flashing the poor guy?,” Rossi chuckles out, making Abbot choke.
“No she didn’t" Jack asks, both him and Robby red in the face between laughs.
“Oh! There was also this one time she-"
Laughs and chatter filled the room, as stories of your misadventures were traded. You can’t help but feel extremely loved and lucky though, as Jack tucks you in by his side. "Let’s go get drinks after spencer is released yeah?”
Sum: your young, smart, and ready to retire as your ass gets transported to the hospital. Thankfully, there's a hot doctor waiting for you, and your boss, Aaron Hotchner, just so happens to be the perfect wingman.
Cw: huge medical inaccuracies!!!, you get shot in the line of work. It's implied you're young and smart like Spencer. F!Reader. mdni platonic hotchner x reader, misunderstandings
Honestly, this was a long time coming, you think as the ambulance rushed you to the closest hospital.
Catching serial killers for a living had to have a short life span. Your hips hurt, your head hurt, and you've seen the worst of worst with your team. How Hotch and Rossi still do it at their age?, you'll never know, but right now, you're ready for retirement, you think as you almost bleed out.
"If I die here, I'm retiring," you can't help but tell the EMTs who are rushing you to the Pittsburgh trauma.
——
"Robby! GSW on route eta 5 mins, says she's law enforcement." Dana calls out to him.
Shit, he can't help but think as he replies to confirm.
"Santos, Whitaker, finish up with our patient here," he orders, giving Santos a stern look before she can even ask to join.
He rushes to Dana. "Ask surgery to be ready just in case," before calling over Landon, Perlah, and Mohan.
"GSW on route. We'll meet them outside, let's go." They quickly follow as Landon questions what else they know, "Not much, unfortunately."
——
The ambulance arrives not a moment later as the EMTs get you down. Robby takes you in: young, GSW to the stomach, bruising on your face and hands.
"Let's go!"
They rush in as Dana tells them room 3 is ready and prepped. Perlah quickly works on your vital, as Robby cuts your shirt.
"Gotta stop the bleeding and get a read. Looks like a through and through— Langdon, Mohan go", as they get to work. Langdon on stopping the bleeding and Mohan on x-rays. It took three hours but they managed to stop the bleeding, and your vitals were strong.
——
Waking up dizzy is never fun, especially to the feeling of pain and sounds of a beeping machine. "Please, god, if you love me, then turn that awful sound off."
You hear a soft chuckle that replies, "Sorry, not god, and can't turn that off yet. You're at Pitts Medical Trauma and I'm Doctor Robby. Can you try to open your eyes for me sweetheart? How are her vitals?"
"Solid," Landon replies as he looks over you.
Groaning, you shift up and open your eyes slowly. You can make out a tall figure beside you, with sad brown puppy dog eyes. "Can I retire now?"
Robby chuckles softly, "Don't think that's up to me, kid, but you probably have a fair chance. You came in with a GSW, through and through the stomach in a safe spot somehow, and head wounds. Do you remember anything?"
"Damn, here I thought I could get a doctor's note," you smile at him before continuing, "I remember everything, thought it'd be worse."
"You're lucky it's not," Landon replies from the corner with the others, eagerly watching your interaction from the side.
There's a knock on the door, which turns out to be Dana. "Robby, her team leader is finally here. FBI, do I let em in or?"
"FBI?" Robby looks at you confused. You look young—too young for that, but he's seen geniuses before.
"Are you up for it?"
"Send in the Calvary pretty lady!, gonna have to debrief one way or another"
"You got it. I like her." Dana stage whispers as she heads out.
"So, FBI," Robby questions, taking a seat next to you.
"Something like that. Why?, does it turn you on?" You can't help but tease him. Watching his ears turn a delicious shade of red as Langdon hides a laugh in the background.
You don't hear Hotch come in until he clears his throat.
"I didn't realize concussion was on the list of injuries, agent." Hotch lets a small smile through as he walks over to you.
"There's two of them?!," Langdon whispers quietly to Mohan and Perlah, who's already planning to tell Princess, and well, you know how that goes.
"How is she?" he asks Robby, taking the other man in. Robby can't help but stand and raise a brow back. "You are?"
"SSA Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner, BAU. Her boss," Hotch replies with a firm look.
"Dr Michael Robinavitch." They shake hands firmly as Robby continues. "Outcomes good, she'll need a lot of time to rest. Maybe a retirement." He can't help but let out.
Funny girl, pretty too, he thinks as he steps back to watch you and Hotch.
"Understood; how are you feeling, y/n?" Hotches' eyes soften as he takes you in. "The team was worried; Garcia was ready to take down the entire city," making you laugh.
"Ow! Okay, don't laugh, got it. I'm okie-dokey! Everything go alright on our end?" You ask Hotch, pretty face twisted in concern.
Hotch spares a glance at Robby, who takes the hint, "We'll leave you to be for a second."
He gestures for the others to follow him. Robby can't help but look back at you as he closes the door. Youre smiling gently at Hotch who takes your hand in his.
He sighs, knowing his chance wasn't there.
——
News spreads quickly of the pretty FBI lady hitting on Robby, making his ears red again. He can't help but glare at your room, with you and Hotch still in there.
"Glare anymore and the room will melt. Go talk to her," Dana nudges him.
"What, no, why would I? She's just a patient. Besides, there's clearly… something there," he gestures in your room, implicating you and Hotch.
"Mhm, I've seen you stop yourself too many times. You're a good man, Robby; don't stop yourself anymore." Dana replies before leaving.
Sighing again, Robby can't help but consider Dana's words as the door opens, Hotch existing before making his way to the attending.
"Is there anything we should be concerned about health-wise?" Hotch stares Robby down, but he's not one to back down.
Unfortunately, he can definitely see the similarities between them.
"She needs lots of rest, probably overnight for a while. Can't risk her wound opening up or getting infected."
"Understood, I'll stop by again later with the team once she's rested." Hotch pauses for a second. "Also, she's single," before turning around and leaving.
"Holy shit, he really is like a second Robby," he hears whispers as he stumbles over the agent's last words.
Sum: Gloria holds a lecture for all her doctors. To your dismay, it’s held by your former boss and lover, Dr. Gregory House.
(Not sure if this should be called a one-shot of Drabble! Please read warnings! Also I love grumpy old men c:)!
CW: House calls himself a cripple jokingly like in the show briefly, past house x reader, female reader, reader used to work for house, medical and medical teaching inaccuracies. Abbot on the day shift for fun c: Resident Reader. M/M/F implied, MDNI, not proofread, age gap relationships and power dynamics
“Good call on that last one. How the hell did you put two and two together?” Dr Robby asks coming up behind you, taking a peak at your notes. You can’t help but giggle internally as he puts on his glasses to read, cute.
“Come on, that was a light jog for our pretty fairy here” Dr Abbots sassy voice cuts in. You look over at him, sticking your tongue out and try to hide your blush, getting a smirk back from the handsome doctor.
“Just seen something similar before” you casually mention, missing a shared look between both of them.
Fairy. The oh so fun nickname the Pitt staff have given. Their own fairy god mother, fairy for short. They knew they could always count on you to help diagnose even the weirdest of cases, ever since you started here.
Guess I can thank house for one thing, you snort thinking to yourself as you chart the patient in question. A 40 year old man who came in with orange sweat, which you realized was a combo of foreign mosquito bites and exotic fruit.
Shaking your head, you steadily get back to work.
Enjoying the steady stream of patients, teasing Javadi with a thumbs up as she flirts with Donnie, bantering with Langdon, Dana and Mohan. And of course your two favorite attending.
You couldn’t deny you felt an attraction from both of them, both men itching that part of your brain looking for guidance and firm hand just right. But you had learned your lesson the hard way with House, and your failed romance.
Not that you blame him, you were just too different and he had demons you weren’t ready to fight. Even if you missed that cane of his.
——
A medical lecture wasn’t unheard of but they were rare for doctors after reaching a certain point in their career. Especially mandatory ones. You look around to see your fellow residents, intern, and attendings from both day and night in the small room.
“Must be a big deal if Gloria actually put money into something” Robby says as he takes a seat next to you, as Abbot takes the other while handing you a latte. Hes comment gets a snort from both of you, knowing how cheap Gloria’s wallet was before thanking Abbot.
“Dr. Abbot, have I ever told you you’re my favorite?” You smile thankfully at him chugging down the sweet drink. You try not to think about how good they both smell and how warm their bodies feel next to you.
“Baby I’m everyone’s favorite” getting a giggle from you and eye roll from Robby.
“What? No latte for me?” Langdon, who’s sitting infront of you with Mel and Mckay, turns around and gives Abbot those puppy dog blue eyes.
“Sorry golden boy” getting laughs from everyone as Gloria strolls in. You’re enjoying your latte, looking down at your notepad and pen as you hear a cane.
No way.
Looking up, you see him walking in with Dr. Wilson.
Dr. Gregory House in the flesh, looking as bored as you remember, until he faces the crowd and spots you. A smirk graces his face as you internally groan, already knowing what was coming.
The room whispers as they realize who he is. Dr. House was infamous. Crazy, uncontrollable but a terrific doctor if your case interested him. Most wanted to intern under him but knew his criteria was impossible to pass.
Abbot catches the way House smirks at you, glancing at you before asking “you know this guy?”
Only to be interrupted by Gloria.
“Doctors, thank you for your time. I know it’s difficult with how busy we are but this, this is worth it. Diagnoses take time, time and money we don’t have to spare. So what better way to learn how to do it efficiently and raise our scores, then by learning from the best” she gestured to House, who’s puffed up like a peacock.
Wilson can only groan silently from the side, knowing how annoying House was going to be now.
“Please, give a warm welcome to Dr. Gregory House!”
——
“So. I’m sure you’re all just wetting your panties realizing who am I am and the knowledge I’m about to bestow on you people. And yes I am single “ House starts, looking around the room.
The startled faces of those around you makes you snort quietly, knowing this was just the beginning of his terror.
“Is this guy for real?” You hear Langdon whisper to Mel.
“But of course, I’m surprised I’m here as you have Dr. L/N, Hi baby.” He girns at you as you sink into your chair, feeling everyone’s eyes gun you down. Particularly from the two men next to you.
“Hello House” you groan out, already feeling a headache coming on.
“Come on now, I come all the way to this stink fest and that’s the greeting I get? Now don’t let that beautiful tight ass fool you, Y/N the best...” he’s cut off by you throwing your pen at his forehead, your face hot and warm.
“Dr. L/N!!” Gloria shouts out in horror, as House sasses out —
“She hit a cripple! Can you believe that Wilson! A cripple” teasing you further.
“Did he just say you have a beautiful tight ass??” Robby looks mortified, looking ready to punch House, who grins at him, angering him further.
“You deserved it” both you and Wilson say at the same time, as you smile at eachother. Wilson was definitely one of the few you missed.
“Harsh crowd”
Gloria sighs, “Please, Dr. House. I apologize for her behavior, may we please continue was the lecture” she’s gives him a firm look as he raises his hand in surrender.
“Fine fine, seems its be mean to the cripple day here in Pittsburgh. Anyways. Differentials. Here’s what you rodents are doing wrong”
——
You can’t deny, his lecture was quick and efficient, despite his running desires to flirt and embarrass you.
“So do we have any questions from the young spongy minds?” Houses asks after he’s done, looking around the room before landing on a spunky looking young women.
“Yeah with the tattoos and issues ” he nods to Santos who looks offended at first but asks the million dollar question.
“How do you know Dr L/N”
“Santos!!!” You can’t help but whisper at her as everyone else chimes in they want to know too, even Dana! As you send her a look of betrayal!
House grins at you, “Ah my favorite question! How do I know our beautiful doctor over here? Hmm was it Biblically or…” before you interrupt him.
“House.” You give him a stern look as he pretends to hold his heart.
“My I’ve missed those looks. Princess here was my best intern and resident before she coldly abandoned me for you lot. A Shakespearen level betrayal, truly.”
“And I’d do it again!” You chime in teasingly before Gloria cut in to get the lecture back on track again.
—-
You wait as everyone gets ready to go back to work, giving you looks of ‘we’re so gonna ask later’ as they go.
They probably would have grilled you now, if it weren’t for Robby and Abbot, waiting protectively by you side.
You watch as House makes his way over to you three, giving the two men a quick glance.
“Princess”
“House”
“Pretty sure I was daddy last time” he tilts his head at you, taking you in off the first time in two years.
“Pretty sure I still have a mean right hook, like last time too” you can’t help but bite back, getting a laugh from Abbot as Robby steps in.
“Dr. Robinavitch and Dr. Abbot. We’re her attendings now” he says while they subtly move you behind them, making you smile. Men and their egos or whatever.
“Ah, you two are the new me then? At least they’re handsome” House would sooner eat bricks before backing down tho.
You push past Abbot and Robby to hug House, surprising all of them.
“It was nice to see you again House” you whisper out.
He smiles before hugging you back gently, “you too kid.”
He steps back taking one more look at you. “Well. That’s all the fun my heart can take. Now I have to bother Wilson into taking me out.”
He walks away before stopping “Oh. I hope you two can keep up with her, I never could” he says as he leaves the room. Wilson smiles at you once more before chasing him down.
You feel a large hand on your shoulder and turn back to face Robbt and Abbot.
“Did you seriously date that dick?” Robbu asks you, fuming over his comments and attitude. Abbots arms crossed again his chest as he stares you down.
“He’s nice when you get to know him!” Getting a look back.
“Okay he’s not but it was just.. a thing! A thing that didn’t work out and I’m more than okay with that” you gently reassure the two.
“So.. you’re not against dating attendings?” Abbot smile at you, as you look between him and Robby.
“Clearly not” you reply cheekily, knowing since were going to drastically change around here for the better.
Sum: you answer a small newspaper ad, which leads to you living with the one and only, Dr. Jack Abbot.
Cw: “and they were roommates” trope ish? Younger female reader, age gap relationship, roommates, Jack has night terrors, widow Jack Abbot, fluff. Your a ghost writer of smut bc that’s my favorite c: MDNI not proofread
The house was too empty. Too quite. Too much for one person to take care of. It was supposed their dream home, but his late-wife never got to see it.
Never got to be carried through the threshold, never got to have morning coffee with him at the book nook, or enjoy the fire pit.
His therapist says he finds comfort in the dark but also in the barren. Never giving life to the home that was supposed to be theirs, even years later.
So when she suggests a roommate, Abbot quite literally doesn’t know what to do with that. There was plenty of room, sure, but did he really want that?
Looking around, he knows he could use someone’s help. It’s too much house, too suffocating on days like this.
Sighing, he reaches for the local pitts area newspaper for the add space number. It’s old school, almost dead but if anyone’s gonna live here with him, they should at least know what a newspaper is.
Looking for a quiet roommate. 49, Male. Looking for someone to help manage an old house for less rent. I work night shifts. No loud parties or gatherings. Contact at *********
——
Meeting you felt like a twist of fate. Some people had responded sure, but none he took seriously until he heard your soft voice over the phone.
New to the city, a writer by trade, so you assured him quite days and help around the house. You mostly worked from home and he had at least 20 years on you.
But god were you charming, he thinks swallowing as he helps you move in your small boxes.
“Dr. Abbot? Is there anything I should do or not touch?.” You asks as you settle another box on the kitchen counter. You didn’t have much but it was enough to fill the small guest room across his.
You were so grateful to have found the ad, you quite literally shook calling him. The house was perfect, yet empty, you note. Must be because he works night shifts, you think taking every thing in. It doesn’t help the good doctor is wildly attractive.
“Jus’ need some help talking care of this old thing during the day, cleaning and stuff if you don’t mind kid. Just.. just stay away from the closet at the end of the hall upstairs” he tells you, a far away look in his eyes for a moment before a little smirk graces his handsome face.
“Oh and no fires if you can help it. Firefighters are my enemy,” making you giggle.
“Sir yes sir!” You say while giving him a little salute, making him laugh. After helping you move, you’ll be honest, you rarely see him at first.
You hear him come home and leave, saying “goodbye” and “welcome home” when you catch him but never getting to really know eachother, with the both of you focused on work. You were just two roommates, trying to survive.
——
That was, until you started leaving him leftovers, feeling bad there was never much in the fridge for him. That small decisions led you to start a breakfast routine together. You shared little tired laughs and always fought on who did the dishes after.
Until you started packing lunches for him, after quickly making yourself dinner. The first time he noticed you left him food to take, his heart thumped in ways he hadn’t felt in years.
Until you started working in the living room, the little book nook becoming your spot. He’d sometimes find you passed out on it, curled up like a cute rabbit. On those days, you’d always wake up covered by a soft blanket, smelling suspiciously like a certain doctor.
Until you started leaving fresh flowers in the living room, which make him still and smile looking at them. One day, there was a small bottle of aroma massage oil next to them and a little note saying “to help with the pain!,” in your curly writing. He carries that little bottle and note with him everywhere.
Until the house started looking and feeling more like a home
Until he had his first night terror in years.
——
It started with whimpers. Fear reached you as you shot up, thunder and raining muddling the sounds coming from the end of the hall.
You gently crept out of your room to stand in front of his closed door, stalling before turning the knob. You’d never gone in his room before, not even to clean.
You see Abbot sweating in his sleep, tossing and turning. He looks like his in pain and it’s killing you inside.
Slowly you make your way to him, gently sitting before rubbing small circles on his chest to soothe him. Little hums and shushes come out of you, as you go to rest against his headboard.
You try not to think about how firm him chest is, the little salt and pepper curls that match his hair or the scars that litter his body.
It’s takes time but you feel his body relax back into a peaceful sleep, as it reaches you too. Your soft snores fill the room, as you fall asleep next to the man you haven’t been able to stop thinking about.
——
He’s confused at first. Waking up to you curled softly against him, face nuzzled against his chest. He’s alarmed, body tensing unsure of what to do. A small part of him wants to go back to bed, pull you closer and sleep and another wants to run. His tense body wakes you up and the part that wants to run, shushes, looking at your sleepy face and tussled hair.
Your eyes widen as you realize you fell asleep against him.
“I’m so sorry! You.. you were having a nightmare and I came to check and I’m sorry I didn’t mean to fall asleep here”
You look away, unable to make eye contact in shame as he swallows heavily.
His arms stop you from leaving as he tells you it’s okay. “I’m sorry I get.. from the war. I get nightmares sometimes. Thank you.. for helping me”
You couldn’t help but smile carefully. “It’s okay, I’m here for you”
——
Things changed at a rapid pace from there with Abbot, now Jack.
You were both each others closest companion. You spent his off days together, continued your shared meals and learned more than you dreamed of.
From his deployments, his late wife, his love of pineapple pizza and more.
Giggling you can’t help but recall when his red tinted cheeks when he learned about your job as a ghost writer for small smut books. It became natural, to seek eachother out, and one way or another, you always ended up in his bed.
Snuggled asleep in his arms, the two of you refused to say anything about this new tradition. The fear of breaking the comfort it brings stops you both.
Your pillows and blankets join the bed, and the room becomes more and more “our room” then his.
——
Robby can’t help but notice a small pep in Abbots step. How he suddenly comes in with well packed food and how his eyes looked brighter. Suspicion runs deep, as he wonders what changed for him.
“Getting more sleep brother?” He asks, watching Abbot get ready to leave.
Abbot can’t help but smirk “something like that”
——
The warm months great you as you and Jack settle closer into each others hearts.
He ponders, if he should ask. Ask what this is as he watches you plant flowers in his garden. His home is beautiful now, he thinks, like you.
“I think, I think we should have a house warming party.”
You can’t help but laugh as you glance up at him from the flower beds, “Can it be a housewarming if you’ve been here for years?”
“Never had or wanted one before. Seems like we should change that sweetheart”
Jack walks over steadily to you, kneeling to kiss you on your forehead.
You understand, and agree completely.
——
The backyard is bustling with new life. The flowers you planted being ‘oohed’ and ‘ahhed’ at, as you’re introduced to all of Jacks friends and coworkers.
You find yourself particularly drawn to Mel and Langdon, giggling up a storm with the two of them.
Jack can’t help but watch you from the corner of his eyes, not quite focused on his conversation with Dana and Robby.
“So” Robby inturpts his thoughts of you. “How long have you been dating her?”
Jacks eyes brows raise, a crinkle settling into his forehead.
He shrugs, trying to appear nonchalant. “We’re just roommates”
Dana and Robby can’t help but share a tired and concerned look.
“Jack, she lives with you. Cooks for you. Decorates your home and entertains your friends for you. If I had roommates like that I’d probably have more kids ” Dana says, trying to get a better answer from him.
“She’s young, we don’t want to see you hurt brother,”but Jack shrugs off both if their worries again, taking a sip of his beer.
A small smile appears on his face as he watches you mingle, knowing he didn’t have to worry about you or the ring in his nightstand.
Sum: An average day at works takes a turn for the worst, as Pittfest comes to greet you with a gun. OneShot!
(This story is separate from my other BAU x Pitt works and features my attempt at my Asks/Requests for BadassBAU!Reader! I hope it was worth the wait and please read the warnings my duckies! <3)
CW: TGun violence against you and the pitt shooter, talks of killing and saving people by killing them. M/M/F, Pittfest, you're a second year resident so agegap relationships and power dynamics. A small bit of smut, daddy kink, and descriptions of body parts at the end. Very brief mentions of overdosing, a hand in a blender, Myrna. Implications of you tricking the unsub by agreeing to said crazy talk. F!Reader - mentions of you being smart, kid as a nickname by our two men. MDNI
As you're getting ready for your shift, you can't help but think about how different your life is now.
The Pitt, as Robby affectionately called it, was grueling. On your first day, you had seen two people overdosing, someone's hand stuck in a blender, and met Myrna, who decided you'd your pretty face was worth switching sides for a night or two.
Sighing, you couldn't help but laugh as you thought about how being a second-year resident was no different from being in the BAU.
Least I don't have to worry about serial killers with too much time on their hands planing their revenge on me, you think with a snort.
While you still kept in close touch with everyone back at Quantico, even offering advice and help when needed, you wouldn't go back unless you absolutely had to. Sides, what would your favorite grumpy attendings do with you? You giggle, thinking about Dr. Abbot and Dr. Robby.
You had grown close to them, finding comfort in their presence. They reminded you of the best parts of Hotch, Rossi, Spencer, and Derek. When your feelings had turned romantic for the both of them, you really didn't know what to do, confiding in Spencer and Penelope. They encouraged you to try, but fear stops you, not wanting to ruin what you had.
It was enough, knowing they shared little laughs with you in rare downtimes, how they took turns being your coffee or secretly walking you to and from work. If they asked for more, you'd give it to them immediately.
But nothing goes on the Pitt without Perlah and Princess knowing, so you can only imagine what the betting sheet looks like. Most of the day shift argued you'll end up with Robby, while the night shift was rooting for Abbot.
——
As you head in, you can already sense this was going to be a tough day shift. Sailing you up to the roof, spot your favorite old man duo.
"Room for one more?" You ask, joining them.
"For you, baby? Always," Abbot smirks out, but you can see the tension in his shoulders, the sadness in his eyes.
You quietly move in between them as Abbot grabs you firmly. Face buried into your hair, taking in your sweet scent, before passing you to Robby. Giggling lightly, you hang off Robby as he gives you a squeeze.
"Everything okay?" You ask, glancing at the two and noting the letter in Robby's hand.
"Just your usual existential crisis. Let's go, kid."
——
The three of you head down as you take note of the already drowning patient board, and group of new doctors in front of the nurses' station.
"We've got new students," Robby informs you as he leads you to them, leaving Abbot behind to chart. Your hand carefully brushes against his as you walk away, a silent goodbye.
"God help them," you snort out, making Robby huff.
"Alright, welcome to the Pitt. I'm your attending Dr. Robinavitch, but you can call me Dr. Robby. Over here, we have our charge nurse, Dana; she's the one really in charge and will be your best friend here if you want to make it. Your senior residents are Dr. Langdon and Dr. Collins. If you can't find me, you can go to them. If you can't find any of us, you go to Dr.L/N here, or honestly, just go to her anyways," he informs them, placing a large hand on your shoulder, giving it a playful squeeze.
You give a little wave and smile to the new team.
"Careful, Robby. Your favoritism is showing," Dana jokes, watching the two of you and shaking her head.
"Walking HR violations, those two." Collin joins her as they share a teasing look.
Sticking your tongue out, you sigh, glancing at the patient board. "Let's do this, yeah?"
--
Patient after patient, you barely had a second to breathe. You can tell the day's getting to Robby, as last night had to Abbot. You follow him to the bathroom, pushing him back in when he tries to come out.
"Jesus y/n. What the fuck.” he breaths out as you lock the door, blocking it with your body. "Talk to me, Robby."
He glares at you, unwilling to talk. "Move. Now. I don't have time for this."
"Hey. Please. Don't hide from me." You whisper as you move closer to him.
He drags his hands over his face. "Today, of all days, is fucking shit."
Closing the gap fully, you drag him into your arms. His body shakes as he burrows his head into your neck, arms wrapped around you. His scruff tickles you, just for a second, as his signature scent warms you.
Sighing, he unwillingly lets you go. "Walking HR violation, you know."
Smirking, you watch his brown eyes darken as he takes you in once more. The three of you have been playing this dance for a while, and you wondered once again when the dam will finally break.
——
"So, are they dating?" Santos asks Garcia, Perlah, and Langdon as they work on the same patient. She caught the two leaving the bathroom together, looking a little.. disgruntled to say the least.
"Honestly? That's the running bet. Either him or the night shift attending," Garcia answers, passing her a scalpel.
"Minimum bids $20," Perlah chimes in as Santos asks to be put down for Robby.
——
At some point, you help Whitaker get new scrubs, feeling bad for the kid.
"It's fucking shit day, kid, but you're showing up and trying. We can't ask for more." You say, giving him a clap on the shoulder before walking away.
"She's so cool," he whispers as he joins Mel, Mateo, and Javadi.
"Dr. L/n? She's the coolest and like hella smart. Used to be a therapist, I think, for Quantico or something before coming here." Mateo informs them, nodding your way.
"I feel like I know her from somewhere; I just don't know where," Javadi says as she watches you move with confidence.
"Dude has like five degrees. She's smart like you," Mateo adds, making Javadi blush and stutter.
"She really is cool," Mel adds. She likes you. You and Langdon have easily become her favorites here.
But of course,
It was near the end of your shift when everything went wrong.
—-
"We’re a MASH unite now. Old school. That means no fancy X-rays, electronic charting, EKGs, or anything," Abbot orders out, putting on his orange vest.
"How will we chart them then?" McKay asks, raising her hand. Abbot nods her way. "Great question. Everyone gets a patient chart attached to their wrist. Write as you go, and if you run out of room, write on their foreheads."
"Seriously?" Javadi says as Abbot smirks, "Seriously."
“Alright.” Robby claps his hands, getting everyone's attention. "You know your zones, and remember to listen to your zone leaders. Abbot, L/N with me for a second. Everyone else, go."
The group breaks up into their colored zones, tensions running high as they wait. It would be any second now.
Nodding, you join Abbot and Robby, giving the former a hug. "Thank god for you, your crazy scanner, and go bag of like everything."
"Even got your favorite protein bars, kid," making you smile. "Marry me?"
But before either can respond —
The ambulance sirens ring loud and true. heart pounding and palms sweating. It was time.
——
It was a fucking mess.
So many victims as you look around. You feel pulled in twenty different directions, but it has to be done. Jake's girlfriend is dead, and Robby is missing. You don't get a second to breathe as you go to help Abbot.
"How do you know so much when you're only a second year?" Santos asks, helping with the red zone as the pink calms down.
"Kids a certified genius," Abbot answers for her, as he performs a tracheostomy. "Call Walsh. This one's ready for surgery."
"Seriously?" She asks. Langdon chimes in as he works next to you guys. "L/Ns got like 4 degrees"
You can't help but smirk "and a nice rack," getting a deep chuck from Abbot.
The two of you notice Robby's back, pulling Whittaker with him. You share a look with Abbot, knowing you'll all be talking soon.
"I've got the next one. Go help Mohan," you tell him as the next victim rolls in.
"Bullet wound in the arm," Shen tells you as you take over.
The guy's lanky with a large black sweater and jeans on. You can tell he's covered in blood despite it bleeding in with the fabric. The hair on the back of your neck stands. You note that the armed police are only outside.
"You with me sir?" you ask as you look his arm over, taking over the pressure.
"Yeah, the guy got me good," he says, avoiding eye contact with you.
"I got you." You carefully let go of the pressure, only to notice it's just a graze. A graze that's way too light to have been from whatever gun was used on everyone else here. You don't stop your movements, eyes traveling to his hands and waist.
"Did you see what happened?" You ask slowly, taking in his jittery frame. Fuck, you think. Your far from the police outside, and he's in perfect range to hurt the most amount of people possible.
"Yeah, I got to see it all." You still for just a second, and it happens.
He grabs you in a headlock, gun out, and presses it to the side of your head in a matter of seconds.
"Nobody move!"
Screams fill the air as you watch your team cover patients with their own bodies, Abbot and Robby rushing towards the center before stopping. Fear. That's the only thing they know now as they watch. Abbot's hands are clenched, knowing that trying anything would put you in a worse position.
The armed guards rush in from the ambulance entrance as the man holding you screams at them to stop.
He's frantic, head whipping from the crowd to the police. His grip on you firm, squeezing you tightly to the gun.
"Move, and I'll blow her fucking brains out," he orders, panting heavily. You can feel his body shake.
"Who the fucks in charge," the shooter continues. As Robby slowly raises his hand, Abbot beside him.
"How many did I fucking kill" the shooter spits out.
Robby swallows, not wanting to answer, so you answer for him.
"Six," you whisper as he looks down at you, moving the gun to your temple.
Whimpers fill the room as everyone watches in horror. From the corner of your eyes, you can see Abbot take a step closer before the shooter starts laughing hysterically.
"Six? All those fucking guns. All that time planning. Shooting myself in the arm to kill fucking six?? You were all supposed to die. I was supposed to save everyone, but you ruined it," he screams out at the end, and you can tell he's losing control rapidly.
You needed to act fast. You needed him to loosen his grip, just for a second.
"I know they did", you whisper calmly to him as he stares you down again. His eyes are wild, wide, and blown.
"You were going to save all of us? Weren't you?" You continue softly. He nods, looking unsure for the first time.
"You can still save us. I see you. You're who we needed, who I needed all along," you say, turning fully into his embrace. Your hand creeps slowly up his chest, trying not to spook him.
You hear terrified gasps in the background but ignore them, focusing solely on the unsub.
"That's right, that's right," he whispers. "You see me?"
You smile innocently at him, pushing your head further against the gun for just a second.
"I see you."
There.
His hold loosens as his mind wanders, but you got him.
Quickly, you move, stomping on his foot as your hands grand the gun and his wrist, twisting it harshly like Hotch taught you.
The shooter screams in pain as you rip the gun out and pistol whip him before dropping the gun and kicking it to Abbot -- Who quickly dismantles it.
"Unsub down!" You call out.
The police run in as you back away from the shooter arms up in the air.
——
You're silent. The police chief, someone you had worked with before, just finished interviewing you as you manage to avoid everyone. Up on the roof, you finally breathe. You feel the adrenaline leaving your body as you lean against the rail.
"Room for two more?"
Looking back, you see Abbot and Robby. Their eyes rimmed red, exhaustion deep in their bones. The three of you pause before Abbot breaks the spell, striding to you.
His hands grasp your head, forcing you to make eye contact. "You ever try to do that again? I'll fucking hog tie you down. Fuck, I'm so mad and proud," your eyes teary as you stare into his.
"Can you hog tie me anyways?"
"This girl," you hear Robby laugh out as Abbot buries his head onto the top of your head. Robby moves to join you two as your squished between them. It feels like hours have passed.
"How the fuck did you do that?" Robby asks, after making sure you're actually okay.
"Remember I used to work for the FBI?"
They give you a blank stare.
"You were a therapist?"
Snorting, you shake your head. "You guys just assumed I was! I was with the BAU for a long time."
The blank stares continue.
Robby opens his mouth and then stops. "So… not a therapist."
"No!, you sexist old men!," laughing as Abbot pushes you.
"I'll show you old," he continues, grabbing you by the waist. He shares a look with Robby over your head, getting a nod back before leaning down to do something he's been waiting months for.
His kiss shocks you to the core. Lips warm, a little chapped but it's perfect, like him. Controlled and demanding obedience. You whimper into it as it feels, his fingers digging into your side and hardening cock against your tummy.
Letting go, you look at him and then Robby before he finally moves. He leans down, kissing you in a way that's fully Robby. Moments later, he lets you go.
The men stare at each other, you in between them again. You watch as their heads tilt towards each other, sharing their first passionate kiss. Another whimper escapes you as your core heats up. They're fucking perfect, you think.
Abbot clears his throat. "We should go home together." He stares you both down in a way that only Abbot does.
Giggling, you agree, as Robby's ears and neck turn red. "Let's close shop first? Then mine, Yeah?"
——
To your embarrassment, claps fill the air as you reenter the ED. Dana hugs you first. "Don't ever do that again."
Smiling, you feel relieved. "Don't really plan on it."
Your heart swells at how worried everyone was, a part of you was nervous they would have taken your crazy words to the shooter for real.
Javadi is the first to put it together.
"Holy fuck your y/n l/n!!! The Y/N L/N from the freaking BAU!! You work with David Rossi and the FBI!!!" She's in shock, having been a fan of the team, and couldn't believe she didn't put it together sooner. You looked different t in your cute scrubs, having usually seen you heels and power suits.
"I thought you were a therapist!!" Landon questions before you raise your hands in defense.
"You guys just assumed! I'm retired BAU!"
"You're too young to be retired from anything!!" He argues back, giving you a hug. "I will bite you!!!" You growl back as you both laugh. He hugs you firmly, thanking you quietly.
The two of you have always had a brother-sister relationship, and you're glad it's not going anywhere, even with his current problems.
“Alright, alright, let my girl breathe," Robby
"My girl," Princess whispers to Perla's in Tagalog excitedly! But Perlah shakes her head as she points out the way Abbot is looking at you.
"But we have questions!!,” someone calls out.
Laughing, you agree to answer a few.
"What's David Rossi like!" Victoria blushes out as you giggle.
"As charming as you think but way too old for you," you smirked at her.
"How did you stop him, the shooter?" Whittaker asks.
"It's something I'm trained for, so for the love of god, please never try that on anyone for any reason." You look at your coworkers firmly.
A sigh escapes you as you answer a few more questions about your time at the BAU. Yes, you know how to use a gun and caught some bad guys. Finally, Abbot called it quits for you and drags you back to the locker with Robby.
He grabs your bag for you, and you smile gratefully. As you leave the building, it's almost shocking how normal it is again. A room full of new patients waiting, with Myrna asking to see Abbot biblically later.
Giggling, you follow the two men home.
——
Robby's place is a quick walk. It's spacious, for just him. Neat, cozy, and almost exactly what you pictured. Photos of him, Jake, his family, and your nights out with the rest of the staff. You try not to analyze him, a part of you that's hard to stop.
You're unsure of what this means for the three of you, but you're willing to try.
"Shower?" Robby grunts out before he nods. He leads the three of you to a bathroom with a large walk-in shower.
Abbot swallows as he notices a shower bench and wall handles, his heart squeezing. "Those?…" he nods towards it.
"Yeah" Robby smiles gently, "Got crutches and Y/Ns favorite soaps too" and for once, Abbot is stunned silent. He places a soft kiss on Robby's lips, before stripping his shirt off.
You watch them, heart swelling with love and need. Their bodies are still hard from the demands of your profession. Their shirts are off before they help you with yours.
"Arms up, baby", Abbot commands as Robby removes your shirt. Your bra, pants, and undies are next. Their eyes dark with desire as they take you in.
"Fucking beautiful baby," Abbot groans, his fingers ghosting over you.
"Could watch you all day pretty girl" Robby's brown eyes taking in every inch, as he tries to ignore his rapidly growing cock.
"Shower first, please." you tiredly laugh out.
You help Abbot with his leg as he settles on the bench. You try not to stare at his salt-and-pepper happy trail, large thighs, or swelling cock.
Robby turns on the water as you help each other bathe. The water and soap feels cleansing, like a new beginning for the three of you.
——
Making your way into Robby's bedroom, the three of you lay on his bed. It's a tight fit, but its perfect.
Kisses are traded as fingers continue to feel, group, and touch. It's all so new and overwhelming, but you refused to stop. You need them now.
Abbot sits up, leaning against the headboard, and settles you into his lap. You can't help but whine and grind your ass against his cock. It's large and thick at the base, while Robby's is just a little longer.
"Naughty little girl, wanting us to take care of that perfect wet pussy huh?" He whispers in your ear as Robby spreads your legs open, kissing his way down from your thighs.
"Please, Daddy," you whimper out, having to stop yourself from humping the air. Their groans fill the room as your words sink in.
"We got you, baby, we got you. Gonna fill you all night long, we promise.”
The night was the first of many in your unconventional relationship and one the three of you would never forget.

"You don’t have to go."
The words ring out as Bruce watches you pack. He feels old, much older than usual, as he takes you in.
His knees crack now, hair more salt than pepper, little lines around his eyes, and Robins venturing out alone more than ever now. And you, you were no longer that little girl he could pick up and tuck away from the darkness of Gotham.
He wished he could go back to the days of measuring your height on the wall with Alfred, rocking you to bed, and checking for evil rabbits under your bed.
He’s conflicted as he helps you; he doesn’t want you to go. “You could do your fellowship here,” he continues. Why go when Gotham has everything,
It has Alfred
Him
Your brothers
Titus
Heck, Batcow
So why did you have to go to Pittsburg, of all places, to continue your studies? Even Bludhaven would have been better, at least Dick would have been able to keep an eye on you, Y/N Wayne, eldest daughter to Bruce Wayne, technically.
You weren’t a spandex-wearing Robin like the rest of the birds, but honestly, you and Bruce preferred it that way. The thought of his little girl fighting thugs and the Joker made Bruce want to hurl if he was honest with himself.
He wanted you to be his little heiress. Luxury, galas, and security. But after Jason died the first time, and a part of you did as well.
Y/N Wayne became but a distant memory of the past that night. Scrubbed from the face of the earth as you started your journey anew.
You wanted to patch up your family and others. You wanted to save lives. You had watched every night as they risked their lives for a city that never gave anything back. You wanted to heal what they couldn’t, as this residency was the opportunity to do so.
You wouldn’t be Y/N Wayne, but Dr. Y/N L/N.
Their reaction to you leaving Gotham for your residency, however, was even worse, especially Damien’s.
You watch as your dad continues to sulk on your bed, swallowing a laugh. The big bad Batman and Playboy billionaire, pouting over his daughter leaving while holding your stuffed bat plushie.
"Dad. I’ll only be three hours away by car and two by jet, and I promise to come home when I can! You know you can always come to see me too, right?" you tell him softly, watching Bruce’s face.
He sighs, before grumbling, "Tell that to Damien.”
This time, you couldn’t hold in your laughter, thinking about your youngest brother. Out of Dick, Jason, Tim, Cass, Duke, and him, he was definitely the clingiest.
"I’ve already promised him he can come to stay with me and double-check for safety issues on one of his brakes if he goes to school," you reply, sticking your tongue before moving to hug him.
"I’ll be back soon, I promise."
Bruce closes his eyes as he hugs you, swearing he can still smell that faint baby smell he remembers from all those years ago. "Love you, kiddo."
"Love you too, Dad."
--
Present day, one year later. PTMD
Honestly, you couldn’t believe a year had gone by since that night.
A year of working tirelessly and learning from the amazing staff of the trauma department. You found a second family of sorts here and your very own ER cowboy, you think with a twinkle as you watch Robby.
You couldn’t dent the small crush you formed on your attending; his demeanor and humor won you over quite easily as you zoned back into the conversation.
Santos was just explaining why she calls Whitaker 'Huckleberry,' much to her delight and his dismay.
“So, did you have sheep growing up??” You excitedly asked Whittaker, who blushed at your attention.
“Ah! Well, like one and a few cows. That’s really it, it wasn’t a big farm or anything, just- yeah, a sheep,” he stammers out to you as you chatted with everyone about where they grew up.
Robby couldn’t help but overhear and chuckle at your excitement over sheep and noting maybe he should ask Santos to stop the nicknames. He shares a look with Abbot, who shakes his head, ever the cool dad.
“What about you kid?” Langdon asks, laughing.
“Oh! Gotham born and raised!”
Silence.
An utter pin-dropping silence.
You wilt internally, panicking, “It’s really not that bad!!” You stutter out, looking at everyone, hands waving.
“I could name you ten villains on the top of my head that prove that statement wrong, sweetheart,” Abbot replies in disbelief. Gotham?? How the hell were you from Gotham, town of death and doom?
Mel swallows before asking you, “I thought…I thought you couldn’t leave Gotham. If you lived there?”
Her question is met with silence once more.
It was an unspoken rule of Gotham. No one really leaves Gotham forever. At least not alive.
“Ahhahaha, well, you know, I uh was lucky! And really! It’s so much safer now, thanks to Batman and everyone else!!” You try to convince them, only to be met with deadpan looks.
“Doesn’t one of those guys use a gun now?” Langdon replies, staring at you with disbelief.
Sure, Pittsburg has villains and stuff, but like, D Rank Stuff. No one wanted to work at Gotham; the amount of violence and death was unimaginable.
“Wait! I thought they didn’t kill people??” Santos chimes in, a confused look on her face.
“They don’t!! Red hoods just uh… different?” God, you’re gonna kill Jason or, worse, eat all of Alfred’s cookies without him.
“Alright, alright, back to work! Gotham, get back to charting and maybe make an appointment with a therapist,” Robby orders out, giving you a concerned look. You can’t help but sheepishly smile back.
Robby can’t help but stare as you chart. You’re beautiful, funny, cheerful, and quirky, with your love for Halloween and the little gold bat necklace you wear every day. The same necklace he stares at when he thinks of kissing your neck in the privacy of his home.
Even on bad days, you’ve always got a little smile or laugh for him, the resident sad boi, as Dana liked to call him. How the hell are you from Gotham? he thinks, shaking his head.
And then came in his own personal Gotham, Gloria.
Tip-toeing away into the breakroom, he couldn’t help but wink at you as you caught him, enjoying the way your pretty cheeks warmed in response.
"Down cowboy, you're gonna give the girl a heart attack," Abbot snorts at him, catching the moment as he joins Robby, getting ready to leave.
"Don’t know what you’re talking about," he cheekily replies, getting another laugh back.
"See you, brother," he tells Abbot as he leaves. Lucky bastard.
--
"How are things going, Sunshine?" Robby asks later on the floor as you're finishing up with your last patient. You can't help but smile at his little pet name for you. Stop making me love you!!, you scram internally as you respond.
"Good! BPA is normal, and I think we’ll get a discharge soon!" you say as the two of you head towards the computers in the main area.
"Are you excited for Pitfest tomorrow? I’m taking my little brother who’s visiting, sooo maybe I’ll see you there!" you tell him shyly, thinking about running into the good doctor outside of the hospital again.
Robby frowns, almost cursing Jake as he shakes his head no at you.
"Gave my ticket to Jake's girlfriend, so I’ll sadly be here with the rest of the flock."
His brown eyes trace your little indulgent pretty pout at his news. He can’t help but smile, knowing it’s because of him.
"Don’t miss me too," he continues, nudging you playfully, getting a giggle out.
"Yes sir!" you giggle out. "I’ll bring you back a flower crown promise!"
--
The next day
It happens so fast, you almost get whiplash.
One second, you and Damien are at the henna stand, debating what design to get, and the next, Damien has you on the ground protecting you with his body and your pressing the SOS button on your bat necklace.
The two of you share a look as Damenin tells you to run, but you shake your head. "Go change, I need to help where I can."
Damien glares at you before giving in, trusting you and everything they’ve taught you.
Robby’s terrible, horrible, no, good day somehow becomes worse as the reason he can’t reach you, and Jake becomes clear.
There’s an active shooter at the Pittfest, and two of his own were there.
Telling his crew was even harder, as everyone tried to not panic at the news. "We need to move efficiently and communicate. I know we're scared, we're scared for y/n, but we have to trust she’s okay. Now, get to your zones. We have patients to save," he tells them as they dispatch.
If only he believe in his own words.
--
Two hours.
Two hours of non-stop patients, jakes girlfriends, rats, Gotham vigilantes of all fucking things but still no sign of you or your brother.
Robby can feel his heart plummeting as they’re low on everything, including blood. The only saving grace was reports of someone dressing wounds on the field, as he prayed it was and wasn’t you.
He heads to the ambulance deck as more vehicles come in when your voice rings through the back of a truck.
"We’ve got a leg and chest wound, internal blee-"
Robby’s head whips to you as he runs, you hunched over a man trying to keep his leg stable as another man compresses his chest. He can feel himself yell for a gurney and red bracelet, but all his eyes can focus on is you.
Your hair, arms, face, and tiny top soaked in blood. He can’t even tell what color your top was before as the crimson darkens it.
our eyes are wide and blown as Shen takes your place. A whimper leaves your mouth as you rush to hug Robby, his arms tightening around you as hard as he can.
You feel Robby’s weight crash into you as his body shakes.
"I’m okay, I’m okay," you whisper to him gently as tears blur your vision.
Robby lets you go but keeps you close for a second, his hands cradling your face as he takes you in again. "You’re okay?" His dark brown eyes stare into your soul, and it’s like he’s aged ten years.
"I’m really okay," you promise, trying to smile when others call for him.
You both share a look before rushing into the ER. There was no rest for the wicked, not tonight.
There- in all their spandex glory, were you two brothers who stood tall and proud as the police chief announced their heroic save.
“We're pleased to announce Robin and Nightwing have caught the shooter. I repeat, Robin and Nightwing have caught the shooter."
The words from the chief police staff ring out as the ER floods with claps and relief. You slump against McKay, who squeezes you by the shoulders. Happiness floods through you, knowing the perpetrator was caught and the boys were safe.
“What we did is nothing compared to what all of you accomplished, the true heroes of Pittsburgh,” Nightwing tells the crowd, who clap for him and ‘oooh’ his good looks.
He sends you a subtle wink as you try not to laugh at him and a sulking Damien next to him.
“Truly, we’re humbled and lucky to have the two of you grace us with your help and presence,” Gloria continues, her speech running dull through the staff's ears.
“I can’t believe Robin and Nightwing are here!! In Pittsburgh” you hear Whittaker say to Javadi, as you smile to yourself before reality sobered you.
The man you came in with, who had helped you save others before going down, didn’t make it. All that was left was his widow and brother-in-law.
“Are you alright?” Mel asks as she takes in your tired frame. You can’t help but give her a quick smile and nod, “Just tired.”
“Least we won’t have to worry anymore, thanks to your Gotham peeps,” McKay tells you, trying to lighten the mood.
“See, we’re not all that bad!” You tell her as Dana announces that the day crew can leave. You give a subtle smile to Dick and Damien, who quietly make their exit between the demands of autographs and speeches.
You catch Robby’s tired eyes, and he gives you a slight nod.
You watch as he quickly leaves for the roof, silently following a few minutes later.
—-
On the roof, you find him near the edge, releasing a sigh that makes your heart anxiously skip a beat.
“Room for one more?” your voice raspily whispered out, trying not to startle him. Robby shrugs, his hands in his pockets and shoulders slumped.
“You missed Abbot's beehive speech,” Robby tells you, glancing at you briefly. What a shit day, he thinks as his eyes close.
“Sounds like I missed a riveting moment,” you tell him snorting, “Any chance you wanna join me on this side? I’m scared of heights.”
You watch as he moves to join you on the other side of the roof fence, laughing slightly.
“A Gothamite scared of heights? Sound like a bad joke,” he tells you as he moves, making you laugh.
“Almost as bad as Nightwing’s spandex,” you tell him, getting a deep-chested chuckle back.
“Where’s your brother? Is he okay?”
“He’s safe and okay at home, thank god. I got him out early,” you lie, wincing internally.
Robby moves to stand in front of you. The moonlight highlighted his handsome features and the grey peeking through in his hair and beard. He’s breathtaking, and you're fully aware of all the blood that covers you in comparison.
It’s like time stills before the magnetic pull between the two of you finally snaps, allowing Robby to pull you into him.
“You were amazing tonight, sweetheart,” he whispers into your hair as tears slip out again.
“Not as amazing as you,” you tell him sincerely. “Every life we saved today was because of you, Michael; please don’t ever forget that.”
The two of you lock eyes again and slowly close the distance between your lips. His lips are dry and cracked but warm against yours.
It’s perfect. You think, leaning into his kiss as he pulls you in deeper, the grip on your body tightening. He’s perfect.
—
Or at least, it was.
It was perfect. The perfect kiss. The perfect everything… That single moment on the roof changed everything for you, and it seemed like nothing for Robby.
He never mentions it again.
Doesn't kiss you again.
One week had passed since the fated Pittfest night, and nothing.
Just casual work talks about daily Pitt-villains and pure, unadulterated avoidance.
You tried not to take it personally, but how could you not. Your feelings for Robby only grew stronger that night.
But it seems he was only willing to run farther from you.
You tried not to think about that, drowning yourself in your work.
—
Another day, another avoidance, you think as you walk to check on your last patient, a poor civilian who got in the crossfire of a hero and mobster, as Abbot joins your walk.
“He still avoiding you, kid?” he can’t help but ask, eyes twinkling with concern and amusement, making you huff.
“Avoiding me like I have cooties. Hey, do you think if I flashed him my tits, that’ll get him talking?” you ask teasingly, staring up at the older man, making him choke.
“Knew I should have started working days when you started,” he tells you, laughing, lightly nudging you.
“Pfft, Please!” you tell him in between laughs, “I could be flashing you, and you’d still be too focused on a certain pretty charge nurse to notice!” making Abbot smirk softly.
Unknown to the both of you, Robby watched as you laughed and teased each other. The way Abbot comfortably nudged you made him clench the pen in his hand before walking away.
Robby knows he wants you, wants you in ways that burn and keeps him awake at night, especially after the kiss you shared. The kiss, he thinks, rubbing his face. It was perfect…just like you.
Later on, on the roof, when he’s joined by Abbot, the small, petty side of Robby wants to ignore him.
Ignore his brother bee, he thinks with a snort as the two men lean against the railing of the roof, the sun finally setting.
“So…” Abbot starts, “When are you finally gonna talk to Sunshine?”
Groaning, Robby tells the man he’s this close to pushing him off the roof, making Abbot laugh.
“Push me all you want, brother, you still haven’t answered the question. There’s only so much brooding and pining an ER can take”.
“Why because you want her?” Robby bites out, bitter over his pent-up and troubling emotions, as Abbot snorts.
“I love the kid but not the way you do. I’m her friend as I’m yours, always. So tell me the truth.”
Robby pauses as he tries to find the words, his shoulders sinking.
“I- its.. everything. Fucking criminals, The Pittfest, Adamson’s death, Jake, and…Collins. When…” he stops, swallowing. “There might have been a baby, and I’ll never really know, and that’s okay. I know it’s okay, and she’s okay, but all this sadness. All of this pain. I can’t lose her too. So if I never have her…”
The pause in the air is heavy as everything sinks in. The grief he’s been carrying every day, trying to be strong.
“Robby, if you never have her.. you’ll still always know that pain.”
--
Time passed as his conversation with Abbot replayed in his head. He works with a new therapist and tries to work on what he’s really feeling. He also tries to rebuild his friendship with you slowly but surely. An extra coffee he just happened to grab, or asking how your cases were going more often.
You could tell something had happened between Abbot and Robby; the two men were never good at hiding their bromance and that something had led to this… change.
It made you feel nervous, sure, if a little unsure, but if Robby was willing to try, then you could as well. Even if it just meant being friends. Flirty, I want you so bad, but I can’t admit it, friends, but friends nonetheless.
So when Gloria announces to Robby that they were getting more funding, everyone thought they were transported into another universe.
“What….What?” Robby exclaims, shellshocked as Gloria continues her announcement smugly before continuing-
“It took some time, but PTMC just secured their biggest donor, and for some reason,” she continues after giving Robby and Abbot a look, “our donor insisted a large portion be used to help you ER cowboys. As a thank you and introduction of them and other donors, we’ll be holding a gala one month from now. We hope to see everyone there!” she tells the crowd as she leaves.
Excitement filled the air with the news of funding and possible hours, hires, and equipment.
“Do you think she sold her soul?” Abbot asks, making Dana laugh. If there was a little lift in the corner of his mouth after, well, that was between him and whatever devil Gloria sold her soul to.
“Maybe it was LexCorp? Heard they were looking to expand.” Dr. King exclaimed, making you gag.
“Ughh, I hope not. I’d rather not die in whatever stupid plan Lex Luthor has,” you say as a full-body shiver wrecks you. “Or deal with the weirdos he’d attract.”
“Amen to that. Gimmie me D-rated Pitt heroes and villains any day,” Shen tells you, giving you a fist bump.
“But I wouldn’t say no to giving Superman a well-deserved physical.”
--
The night of the gala came quicker than anyone could have expected as you worked on the final touches of your outfit.
A stunning pink gown, gifted by Bruce but picked out by Stephanie and Cass, that highlighted your figure beautifully. The dress all but confirmed who the “secret donor” was, but you couldn’t find yourself to be upset.
You felt incredible and unstoppable. I hope he'll save me a dance, you think to yourself as you wrap your shawl around your shoulders.
--
The gala was in full swing as you arrived, and you couldn’t help but spot a birdie or two that may or may not have been following you since you left.
A smile graces your lips as you enter the gala ballroom, that was tastefully decorated with white lilies and intricate light features, ignoring all the eyes that stare at you in awe and envy.
Robby feels the air leave his lungs as he watches you enter the ballroom with the grace and beauty of a painting come to life. Your pink and blue dress highlights your figure in ways your usual scrubs didn’t, as he feels his ears turn red.
“Oh wow, she looks incredible.” He hears King whisper to Langdon as Abbot nudges him to move.
On autopilot, he makes his way to you, and when your eyes connect, it’s like there’s no one else in the room but you and him.
“Hi,” you whisper shyly at him, smiling. Robby smiles back as he offers you his arm, which you gratefully take as he leads you to the table of all your coworkers.
“You look.. beautiful isn’t enough to describe how you look tonight,” he whispers to you, making your face warm.
“Right back at ya,” you whisper back, playful, making him laugh.
At the table sat Langdon, Mel, Dana, Abbot, Shen, and Ellis, who all greet and compliment you, much to your embarrassment.
“Well, don’t you look nice, princess!” Ellis teases you as you stick out your tonight.
Laughter and chatter filled the table before the speeches began and as the speeches went on. You felt relaxed as Robby rested his hand on your thigh. His grip is comforting and warm against the fabric of your dress.
“Try and look alive,” he whispers to you as you drown out Gloria on stage, and you stifle a laugh.
“- and with that, I welcome our newest donor with pride, Bruce Wayne!!” Gloria finishes as Bruce graces the stage.
Claps and cheers fill the ballroom as Bruce takes the mic. He’s dressed in a navy suit and looks ever the part of a Playboy billionaire.
“Thank you. It brings me great pleasure to assist such a prestigious teaching hospital as this. I’ve heard good things and hope to hear more. Now, please, dance, drink, and enjoy,” he finishes with a raised glass.
Short and sweet like always, you silent snort to yourself as you clap with everyone else.
--
“I can’t believe Bruce Wayne is our donor! Do you think he needs a private doctor?” Langdon asks after everything had calmed down,
“No way I called dibs!” Shen interrupts.
“You called dibs on Superman!” Dana reminds him, making everyone laugh.
“But 2’oclock, there’s your man now. Go get him, tiger!” Ellis says, clapping him on the shoulder as Bruce makes his way to your table.
You catch the twinkle in your father's eye as he makes his way, as he gestures for you to join him, making you smile and get up.
“Y/n?” Mel asks as you send her a wink before meeting your father halfway for a hug, stunning everyone.
Robby watches you hug the older man and feels what can also be described as green. He catches Abbot's questioning gaze and only shrugs, fists clenched under the table.
Leaning into your dad's embrace, you feel him relax for just a second before his normal amour goes up again.
“How are you doing?” he asks, looking into your eyes before looking you over. “You look beautiful.”
“Why thank you, Bruce,” you tell him cheekily, making him laugh.
There was something about calling your dad Bruce in public that always tickled your pickle. “My dad bought it for me!” you say with a cheesy grin, making him laugh.
“Spoiled”. He whispers before nodding towards your table.
“Oh! Please let me introduce you to my team! Come on!!” you tell him excitedly, grabbing onto his arm and pulling. Bruce smiles, thinking about how some things never change with age.
Robby stands as you pull the other man to your table and moves to shake Bruce’s hand. “Bruce, this is my attending!-“
“Bruce Wayne.”
“Dr. Michael Robinavitch”
The handshake, well, death grip match made you sweat drop at the two sudden alpha males.
Coughing, you interrupt and introduce everyone at the table as Bruce moves to sit after flagging down a waiter for another chair.
“So how do you two know each other, if you don’t mind us asking” Dana starts, glancing at you and Bruce, her eyes slightly narrowed.
“Ah! Bruce is my dad’s best friend! We go way back! Hahaha,” you tell her nervously, suddenly realizing how this might look like to your coworkers and Robby. You glance at him and smile nervously, reaching subtly under the table to grab his hand.
“Known the kiddo forever,” Bruce chimes, scuffing the top of your head as you whine and pout.
“Does that mean you have teen angst stories for us?” Abbot asks mischievously, breaking the ice as you pale.
Bruce’s eyes twinkle again, “I can do even better. Wanna hear about she was convinced evil musical bunnies were going to take over the world-“ as you groan into your hands. You feel Robby quietly shake with laughter next to you.
The others weren’t so kind, and the table filled with stories of your youth and Pitt mishaps.
Slowly, the ballroom fills with dancers as Bruce makes his way back to the floor, promising to find you later.
Robby cleats his throat as he looks down at you, “Would you like to dance?” he asks as your eyes light up.
“Yes!”
The two of you make out onto the floor, slowly gliding as Robby leads with one hand on your waist and the other holding your hand up. Your bodies leave no room between you two as the music lulls your head onto his chest.
Robby can’t help but squeeze your waist tighter and place a soft kiss on your head. “This okay?”
You look up from his chest into his deep brown eyes and smile. “More than, if it’s okay with you,” you whisper, getting a bashful smile back.
“Sweetheart… I..I know I’ve been hot and cold lately, and that’s not fair to you. It’s never been fair to you as my resident, my friend and hopefully, my—”
But he’s cut off by loud gunshots. The ballroom doors are ripped open as six masked gunmen fill the room, shooting their automatics into the air.
Screams fill the air as Robby quickly grabs you as you try to pull away and rushes you back to the table with everyone else.
“EVERYONE DOWN NOW”
One of the men screams out as you and the crowd sit on the floor. You quickly scan the room and don’t see Bruce anywhere while noting how many weapons each man has and two shadows near the ceilings.
The six men make their way to the middle, guns pointed at the crowd before they continue.
“Now, ladies and gents. We don't want any trouble. We just want your money and jewels! My friends here are gonna go around with the bag, and your gonna give us everything quickly or else…. oh and Bruce Wayne. Come er’ Bruice Brucie!!!” the man screams out as two of the men work the crowd.
But Bruce is nowhere to be seen, angering the main robber.
“I thought Bruce Wayne was supposed to be here!!” he yells out, but no one responds. “Fuckin bastard, hurry up with this shit,” he yells at his men, who just made it to where you were.
Quickly, the men hand them whatever cash they have, and you catch the grimace on Abbot's face, knowing what the soldier was thinking.
You quietly hand over your earrings and matching bracelet when you suddenly feel the barrel of the automatic against your face.
You still, as the gunman forces your face up with the tip of his barrel, a sleazy smile gracing his half lips, the only part visible beside his eyes.
“Ain't you a pretty thing.” He says, nudging the other man, “Think the boss will let us take a souvenir.” he snickers as he greedily drinks up your form and pushes the gun deeper into you.
“Sto-“ you feel Robby start before the gunmen looks at him as screams fill the room again.
The two shadows you saw earlier fly down, taking all but the leader down in swift movements.
You react the moment he releases the pressure from your chin. Grabbing the barrel and pushing it up with all your strength, knocking the man down before flipping the gun to shoot his leg.
The other gunmen drop the bag of goods and try to reach for his gun, but it's already too late as you shoot him. Both men are down, screaming about their legs as you keep the automatic trained on them.
The leader, now alone, ran for the doors only to run directly into someone’s chest…
--
After the police got your statements and the injured were moved and treated, you could feel the adrenaline crashing.
You feel yourself getting woozy when you're suddenly helped up by the one and only Nightwing, who grins at you cheekily.
“Well, hello, little civilian!” he greets you cheerfully as you give him a deadpanned look.
“Truly Nightwing. Must you act so uncommonly,” a snarky voice behind you says, making you grin, as the one and only Robin joins you.
Damien’s eyes slightly soften as he takes you in the same way your father does before hardening, making you smile.
“Will you be alright, ‘ukht?’ he questions as you nod. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine, and I’ll see you three later, okay?” you tell him with a soft smile as he nods before disappearing.
Nightwing gives you a quick squeeze before disappearing as well, leaving you to go to find Robby and the others.
When you finally spot them, you're greeted with frantic hugs and worries, “Jesus, don’t ever do that again, kid.” Abbot tells you with a firm squeeze between him and Dana.
“I’ll try not to,” you reply, trying to lighten the mood before reaching Robby, who grabs on to you like his life depends on it. Your body shakes silently as you melt into him.
“Never. Again.” He firmly tells you, holding your face up as you nod.
“Can we talk later, please, Robby?” you ask as he nods before placing a kiss on your forehead again.
“Am I crazy, or did we just see Nightwing, Robin, and Batman.” Leave it to Shen to break the silence.
--
The next day, you're all allowed to stay home from the night, and you couldn’t be more grateful for Bruce and his money, knowing he made that possible.
Robby would be at your apartment any second, you note nervously while working on a tea platter. Alfred would be proud, you quietly think to yourself as you take a picture to send him later.
The doorbell rings as you rush to open it, finding Robby leaning against your frame. He’s wearing a dark blue v-neck and dark jeans. His brown eyes have heavy bags under them, darker than usual. He looks exhausted but happy to see you.
You move aside to let him in as he stands in front of you. Neither of you says a word as you look down and fiddle with the edge of your green floral summer dress.
“So,” you both start before laughing. You look up at Robby before offering “tea?”
The two of you move into your living room as Robby takes a second to appreciate your space.
It is bright, spacious, and well-decorated in a way that shows off your personality, from the various flower vases to the little knickknacks hidden around.
“I..” he starts before stopping. You gesture for him to sit on the couch as you grab the tea set, setting it down in front of you.
“You didn’t have to go through all this trouble, sweetheart,” Robby tells you, making you smile.
“I wanted to,” you tell him, shaking your head.
Always so thoughtful, he thinks, smiling before telling you everything. Everything he said, Abbot, and more, from work, life, therapy, and his feelings for you, finally.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever be good enough or be the man you need, but I’m trying, and I'll continue to try every day if it means I get to have you in my life.”
Robby holds your hands in between his, your knees touching. Slowly, you lean closer -
“Robby, you’ve always been the man I’ve needed, and whatever happens going forward, you’ll always have me in your life, forever.”
The space between the two of you is nonexistent as your lips find each other for the first but never the last time.
--
Later, when you're wrapped up in his arms and sheets, tea long forgotten, you ask if it’s a good time to tell him your dad is actually Bruce Wayne.
Sum: who knew taking a babysitting job would lead you to falling in love with a certain attending <3
Part 2
Cw: DILF Jack, touching and casual dominance that might be dubcon as you don’t technically agree or mind, agegap relationship, angst, F!reader, not well proofread! Wanted to get this posted! c: MDNI
Coming home from your little walk and shopping spree with little rabbit, you can’t help but notice how quiet and dark it is. A huge contrast to the late morning daytime and sun.
Quickly, you take Elliot to the kitchen for a snack him before his nap. You’d could tell he was getting grumpy, as you quickly get to work before placing him down in his room for a nap.
You stare down at the sleeping baby and smile. Such a cutie pie, can’t wait to show your dad your new outfit!!
Baby monitor in hand, you quietly crept out and wondered what to do.
Jack was definitely sleeping, as was his baby but you couldn’t just leave? You had to at least make him aware. Nodding to yourself, you had over to what you assume is his room.
The doors slight open as you peak in, it’s dark, cool, spacious was a large king bed in the middle but bare, from what you could tell.
You spot Jack, asleep on his back, the blanket wrapped around his waist. He’s still shirtless, you note blushing.
You debate on what to do, not wanting to wake up but also not wanting to leave without him knowing it’s just him and Elliot.
Slowly, you make your way in, wincing as the oak floors make a little noise. Placing the baby monitor on his night stand, you whisper to him.
“Jack? Dr.Abbot? I’m sorry to wake you” You feel so bad, looking at his handsome face, before sitting down next to him. You brush a strand of his hair from his forehead when suddenly your wrist is in his hand, frightening you.
Jacks pretty eyes peak open, taking you in before grabbing you by the waist, pulling you down next to him.
“Ah!” A little squeak comes out of you, startled by his movements. He pulls you in close, spooning you before wrapping you up in his blanket.
His head nuzzles the area between your shoulder and neck, as you melt into his embrace. “Tired baby?”
“Mhmm” you reply back, not trusting yourself to speak. His body is hard and warm against your soft skin. You can feel his bare legs tangle with yours, making you sink further into him.
He places a sleepy kiss on your neck, and you barely refrain from moaning out. “This okay?” He questions and then tighten ships arms around you when you nod. The two of you drift off to sleep, the soothing feeling of each others bodies comforting you.
——
Waking up, it takes you a second to remeber what happened and where you were. Jack groans in your ear, as you recall what happened.
Your spooning.
Your boss.
Who you met like yesterday.
—-
Jacks lip twitch as he fights a smile, watching you internally panic. You’re too cute for your own good.
“Up?”
You turn slowly and nod. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to” you gesture at the two of you, face heating.
He laughs this time. “It’s alright, we were both tired and I’m sorry too. Best night of sleep I’ve had in awhile tho” he smirks as you before continuing—
“So. Buy any Dior socks?”
Making you melt against him and laugh. It’s strange, you think, how comfortable you are with this man you just met. You can’t deny your heart pulls for him and his sad eyes.
“No matching Dior yet, but I did get Elliot the cutest onesie!! If-“
“If you ask if that’s okay one more time, I’m gonna sit you down and make you memorize the card number,” he tells you pulling your face close by your cheeks.
All this eye contct and touching was making your head spin as you nod, giggling gently.
“Sir yes sir! But I should head home, let you rest. Would you like me to come back tonight?”
“Please, same routine as yesterday baby. I keep a tight ship,” he replies, giving you a cocky smirk as he notices your eyes dilating, and the shifting of your hips.
Jack knows he’s an attractive man, even close to his 50s but knowing you finding him attractive? God danm, doesn’t that do something, as he feels him self harden a little.
Clearing his throat, he pats your side as you make your way out. He can’t help but smile again watching you, knowing Robby would be giving him so fucking shit. Especially the way he dogged on him for dating a resident once.
——
A few months had passed since thay night.
You and Jack had a routine. A solid “I feel like your wife, not your babysitter god help me” routine.
You pride yourself in your professionalism and care, as you try not to overthink your place in the Abbot family. It’s hard. So damn hard with how,
How his hands firmly hold your hips as he greets or kisses you and Elliot goodbye on the cheek as he goes. A new addition that makes you giddy each time.
How you smell like him more often then not, sleeping in his bed a night. How most of your stuff is there anyways, barely going home except the rare days he takes off.
How he makes you laugh until your sides hurt. Under that tough exterior was certified yapper. Slowly, you got to know the deeper parts of him as you shared stories.
How Elliot always greets you with his gummy litlte baby smile, preferring to be safe in your arms over his dads most time, making the older Abbot pout.
How the house started to feel like a home, filled with color and warmth thanks to the items you’ve bought for them.
How the three of you would nap together on his bed, now that the little rabbit was sturdier. His arms around the two of you, safe and secure.
It honestly felt like a dream. Dream baby, dream house, dream man.
So you could only stare in shock, as he asks you to babysit on his rare days off, so that he could go on a double date with Robby.
