Why do you wear Makeup?
Don’t get me wrong I love makeup, I really do. I enjoy the process of putting it on, I enjoy how it looks. I enjoy how it gives me a boost in my confidence. I love that you can express yourself with it but have you ever truly thought about the question, ‘Why do you wear Makeup?’ As much as I want to be a girl that is like “For sure I wear my makeup for myself ONLY”, I am not that girl, as much as I hate to admit it I wear it for other people at times.
Today I was talking to one of my coworkers that is a man, we happened to come across this topic while chatting. He said something like ‘I prefer girls without makeup’. I was just like come on really, like don’t lie but we continued talking and I brought up the point that not all girls wear makeup to impress someone, they do it for themselfs becuase they like it. I said while talking I was like that and I ended up admiting that yeah at times I wear it for others and he was like what are you comparing it to? I was very confused and I was like ‘me without makeup’ and he was like you can’t comepare yourself to yourself. I thought this was interesting becuase I think of my face without makeup and with makeup as two different things that I can compare which is total crap. They are both me, just one has something added to it but I am still me. It shouldn’t matter if you wear makeup or you don’t, just be who you are and if you enjoy makeup than use it but I want you all to take from this that you are beautiful with and without makeup. Don’t feel like you have to wear it to impress others, if they don’t like you for you than they aren’t worth it. Just be you!
