A last minute trip booked at an almost unfathomably low price just because we could. It was pushing it. We’d been on half a dozen holidays already that year. To be honest, I’m not sure where we found the money. But we did, and we went, and when the world shut down less than six months later, we were so very glad we’d taken that chance when we still could. At a time when it was almost impossible to keep looking forward, because there was no telling what lay ahead but none of it was likely to be good, those good memories were what kept us going.
