Andy sighed gently as she watched the bonfire crackle at the base of the hill, the rim of her beer bottle pressed against her lip. It might not have been the big Fall bonfire event but it was still a welcome tradition to be here at any bonfire after all and even if Andy had to drive all the way back from the North East to get here, it’d been worth it. Plus, with the spring nights coming to an end and the summer now stretching out for the long road ahead of them, she needed these little things to remind her about what real home meant. Breathing in lungfuls of air that was slightly tinged with the acrid scent of smoke, she leant back on her picnic blanket and reached for her next drink. She was pretty sure she could walk home from here if the night got too heavy. Or maybe she’d just slight right here next to the warmth of the flames creeping over the greenery. It wasn’t until the sound of a body dropping next to her pulled her attention that she realised she’d been staring at the amber flames licking the sky. “Sure, take a load off.” She teased as she caught sight of the beautiful woman now sharing her space. Andy did not have enough time in the world for this woman. This woman and her big heart. And her beautiful smile.
